Iain and Ingrid were both very nice. Where there when we needed them. Iain gave us some good ideas of things to see and do.
Tips:We thought Braes retreat was a lovely little accommodation. For us it was a bit too far off the main road but very peaceful and relaxing. However, there are some lovely nearby places to walk and explore. Lots to see and do on Skye but mainly always a long drive but definitely worth it.

This was a truly beautiful apartment in a stunning setting. It was easy to spent a day at the apartment with the beautiful garden and views. Iain and Ingrid were great hosts, really helpful and there if you needed them. The apartment had everything you could want-even binoculars which was great as I'd forgotten mine! A quality selection of DVDs, books and games should the weather be bad (it was wall to wall sunshine whilst we were there!) and even sharp, good quality knives-very unusual in a holiday let! There is also a set of OS maps which we couldn't of managed without. Highly recommended.
Tips:We ate at The Stein Inn-fab setting, limited menu but v tasty, quite pricey-had to book ahead. Also The Old Inn in Carbost-walked in and got a table- excellent cheap pub food, very friendly good setting, live music. Cuchillins in Portree-had to book ahead, which was delicious-good seafood. Stardust boat rides from Portree on'The Rib'(fast inflatable) saw loads of wildlife and v good skipper-James.

It’s amazing place to stay, can’t recommend it enough. We just came back from our third stay there and we are already thinking about our next trip. Owners are lovely people, very helpful and friendly and the apartment is top notch. Clean and cozy with stunning views from the bed!
Tips:If you happen to visit Dunvegan we recommend a little coffee place there, called Jann’s. Great coffee and tasty homemade chocolate and cakes, yumm!

This is one of the best places we have stayed and is certainly somewhere we plan to return to. The location and view from the room was excellent. The hosts were really helpful and provided an I=Pad with everything you need to know including places to eat. This was our favourite place on our road trip

It was a great stay. Ingrid and Iain were very kind and helpful, greeted with local delicacies. The appartment and garden so cosy and beautiful. The location is quite remote but centrally located on Isle, wonderful for those looking for a quite vacation with wide possibilities for exploring the Isle of Skye. There is nice library at the apartment with a lot information provided regarding history, tourist sites and routs, and also maps. Thinking already to visit this place soon again.
Tips:Ingrid and Iain are very helpful in making recommendations and reservations regarding food or some attractions. Car is necessary and many interesting sites is easily reachable.

We had a really good time in a fantastic location, and (personally) being over six foot tall really appreciated the big bed! Both the accommodation and our hosts were excellent, and were we to come back to Skye, would hope to return to Braes Retreat.
Tips:We had enjoyable meals at a number of places in Portree including the Portree Hotel and at the eatery at Sligachan. The scenery on Skye is stunning, and tours around the island are a must. We liked in particular the drive around Trotternish and also the Faery Glen.
