8th October 2024:
Excellent property in a really beautiful location. It was very well appointed, warm and comfortable, and maintained at a very high standard. Host was very helpful and provided some lovely treats for our stay. The only thing I would suggest for future customers is a more detailed description of how to find the property. Relying on postcodes and electronic devices is not always the best. We arrived at dusk and it was ok, but I would imagine arriving in the dark wouldn't be easy. May I suggest something along the lines of: Follow A863 North West from A87 for approximately 20 miles until you reach the turning to the left marked ‘Ròthag/Roag/Orbost’ and ‘Hame Hotel’. Follow this single track road for approximately 0.9 mile until you see a turning on the left marked ‘Ard Roag’. Turn here and follow this single track road right to the end (approximately 1 mile), and the property is located on your left next to the turning area. Apologies if this is not appreciated.
Tips:Take your time - don't rush to see everything first time around - you'll want to go back anyway!

What a lovely place, we had a wonderful stay in this idyllic place, we wished we stayed longer ! The owner is very nice and accommodating, she prepared everything for our arrival and even more with a nice detail to attention. Lovely house.
Tips:Close to Neist point and Dunvegan castle. Nice convenience stores in Dunvegan.

A wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful place to stay. The house exceeded all our expectations. The cottage is stunning, very well-equipped, comfortable, and extremely clean, with thoughtful treats provided by our host, including a small breakfast in the fridge. It was lovely to spend time enjoying the view, the cottage, and the surroundings. Its beautiful but slightly remote location added charm, and everything was organized with care and many wonderful details. Our best stay on our trip. It's a pity we could only enjoy it for terre days. We were sad to leave. Absolutely perfect.
Tips:Easy access to all the attractions on the Isle of Skye.

Thank you for a fantastic stay, in the best cottage I have had the pleasure of renting for a few days. The facilities are exceptional and are a credit to Margaret and her family, and in terms of a score they are 10 all day long.
Tips:First thing to say is the cottage is located on a small peninsula, with outstanding views on the doorstep. It is about a 10 minute drive from the main road, and inevitably there are a small number of potholes to dodge. If you are driving on a one track road, with passing places, for the first time, drive cannily. Can you see the next passing place sign, then go ahead, as chances are the car in the opposite direction will see you coming and use the passing place to stop, and let you bye. Can you see further along the road, then look for oncoming traffic, and a passing place to meet the other driver. Skye is a marvellous island, and will give you a sense of wellbeing. If you hate crowds it is a large enough island, to be able to relax and find places outwith the tourist magnets. Chip shop in Broadford serves fantastic fish and chips, bit pricey but worth it , in my opinion

Spotless. Stunning location. Everything you could need and a lovely welcome. There was not one thing about it we did not like.
Tips:Great for bird watching. Sitting in the porch we saw a wealth of sea birds and even saw a golden eagle flying past quite close to us.

We loved our stay at Tigh Beag Na Mara. The cottage was perfect, well maintained and outfitted, and spotless, and the view of the sea loch from the front room was lovely, especially in the morning. Margaret provided little touches in advance of our arrival - scones with jam and butter, milk and orange juice, oat cakes and strawberries, fresh flowers, and lots of wood for the wood burner in the living room - that were very much appreciated.
Tips:The cottage is situated about 1 mile off the highway, via a single lane road. A bit daunting if you aren't accustomed to single lane driving but well worth the drive in.

Tigh Beag Na Mara on the beautiful Isle of Skye is one of the best holiday cottages that we have stayed in. It looks out onto the Loch with mountains in the distance. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and only a short drive to Dunvegan with all its attractions. I would definitley keep Tigh Beag Na Mara on our 'Favourites' list.

2nd July 2023:
The owners who lived in this wee house as children before thoroughly renovating it for holiday rentals have created a home from home for their guests There are lots of extras to ensure that your stay is perfect The attention to detail as well as the quality of everything in the house is much appreciated Stop for a chat in passing they are both friendly and informative
Tips:When you manage to drag yourself away from the magical views from the dining area where you will no doubt spend a LOT of time…… drives around the island and especially the Glendale peninsula out to the lighthouse are memorable Most restaurants were already fully booked but there’s a big Coop supermarket outside Portree And the house is so nice you may well prefer to “eat in”

Only stay here if you are looking for the perfect place to get away. Our stay at Tigh Beag Na Mara was absolute perfection. The little cottage is situated right on the shores of a loch and the 360 views are not to be missed. Everything from booking to checking out was handled wonderfully. Upon arrival there were fresh baked goods, homemade marmalade and jam, plus milk and butter. Little touches made it all the better as fresh flowers were placed around the rooms. This cosy cottage is truly spectacular and Maragaret and her family have thought of everything to make one's stay comfortable. The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything you need from home. The clothes washing machine was a bonus with a clothesline and tumbler dryer available. I highly recommend booking any time of year.
Tips:We loved Stein Inn and had an excellent meal. The service was top notch and the seafood is caught right across the road. Skye was a delight to drive around. We visited Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, and the Fairly Pools. All well worth visiting.

2nd June 2023:
Beautifully appointed house with stunning views. Owner has thought of everything guest would need. A note regarding what can be recycled would have helped but that is being very picky in what was a very enjoyable stay.
Tips:Generally speaking be very careful of the potholes on the roads in Skye and do not go at the height of the season as the car parks will be full. Look into downloading the app that keeps track of the hot spots.

14th April 2023:
Beautiful cottage in an absolutely amazing location with the loch literally a stone's throw away. Superb facilities including a lovely conservatory where you can sit and admire the views, a modern and well stocked kitchen, great bathroom with shower and a very comfortable lounge with a fantastic log burner. Some lovely touches from Margaret including fresh flowers, eggs, scones, cakes and strawberries made us feel most welcome when we arrived after a long journey.
Tips:We ate at the Old School Inn in Dunvegan just 5 mins away and the Edibane Inn which was about a 15 min drive, both of which were very good. Would definitely recommend walking the Quairaing in N.Skye, the most stunning landscape anywhere in the UK in my view. Be prepared for the potholes on the roads in Skye, there are a lot of them so be careful
