Warm friendly welcome. Happy to provide assistance when asked. Available with help and advice if required. Iain and Caron are thoughtful and considerate. It was a pleasure staying at An Clabhan.

Tips:

Eating out:- The Three Chimneys, The Stein Inn, Loch Bay Restaurant. Skye is a popular destination. The known attractions can be busy. While worth seeing there are many other delightful places with glorious views that can be visited and enjoyed. Explore!

23rd August 2021:

High end accommodation- modern, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Thoughtful arrival pack including a number of gluten free items. Attentive and considerate hosts prepared to make themselves available as needed. Would definitely recommend.

Tips:

A very peaceful location where you can spend hours looking out of the window to the sea loch but do need a car for access to the rest of the island. Terrific to have The Three Chimneys a hundred yards from the house.

29th July 2021:

A beautifully designed and appointed ecologically friendly cabin style cottage set in woodland by Dunvegan Loch. The cottage has everything you could need and more besides - even a telescope to watch the seals lazing on a small islet. Caron and Iain are very welcoming and ensure the place is kept to the highest standards. Well worth the drive and the money. We loved every minute of our stay.

Tips:

A well located base to explore Skye. Neist Point is nearby with great views. The Three Chimneys restaurant with excellent fine dining food is a few hundred metres along the road.

27th July 2021:

We arrived early and Caron and Iain were very accommodating and allowed us an early entry to accommodation. They were excellent hosts who have thought of everything that you may need during your stay. The property itself was spotlessly clean, had excellent facilities and the styling of the property was, individual, unique and very complimentary to the property and location. We had a wonderful time and hopefully will return some day.

Tips:

Try and visit as much of Skye as you can, Dunvegan Castle and gardens are an excellent attraction. The Fairy pools were great and we had fantastic weather during our stay. Coral beach is stunning on a sunny day, but get there early as parking soon fills up. Neiste point lighthouse is a great walk. The Old School is a great restaurant and although we ate at the Three Chimneys, we did not enjoy the experience, no atmosphere and food pretty ordinary at over inflated prices. Roads at some attractions could be kept in better condition. Stunning scenery and walks all around Skye, go and explore.

This is our second stay at An Clamhan and it is absolutely perfect.Caron and Iain have thought of everything you could possibly need for a luxurious stay. There are absolutely no negatives I can think of about this property. It’s a peaceful, beautiful location and the house and gardens provide top class amenities. Without a doubt 5 star. Caron and Iain are perfect hosts

Tips:

Three Chimneys a very short walk. Easy drive to other top class restaurants. 5 miles from Dunvegan and Neist Point Lighthouse is less than 7 miles.

An Clamhan is a little gem that served as a wonderful escape in September last year and was still as good in July this year! The bed is still as comfortable and the location is perfect. We will return the next time we need a fill of Skye scenery and food.

Tips:

The nearest restaurant to An Clamhan is the Three Chimneys- a culinary delight. Be sure to book well in advance though. The Old School in Dunvegan is a perfect place for simple but well cooked meals. Sadly we couldn't get in to the Lochbay Restaurant (about 30 mins away) but maybe next time!

Beautiful luxury , comfortable accommodation in a stunning location. Everything that you need and somethings that you didn’t even know you needed . Very welcoming hosts and great supply f starter foods so no need to rush out immediately , just sit and watch the landscape unfold . Ideal location to walk to the Three Chimneys for lunch or dinner if you can tear yourself away from the view . Fab watching the seals in the bay and porpoises further out in the bay , also visited in garden by a young stag and a tawny owl at dusk . Simply just fabulous ! You will not be disappointed,

Tips:

Three chimneys a very short walk away , The school House in Dunvegan also excellent . The cafe adjoining the petrol station in Dunvegan does a lovely breakfast . Neist point lighthouse is a must do as is a drive to NE of island .

5 stars all the way for this fabulous house, from the welcome from the hosts Iain and Caron, the location and the house itself. It has everything you could want or need in luxurious comfort. The hosts have really thought of everything. The photographs on the website look good but the reality is even better. Wish we had been staying longer.

Tips:

Don’t miss The Three Chimneys. The small cafe at Lephin is worth a stop for lunch on your way back from Neist Point and great food at Bog Myrtle near Struan.

Stunning, high spec home in tranquil and charming setting. Loved being so close to the local wildlife, especially the rabbits and deer. The attention to detail in the property is on another level- it’s like living in a boutique hotel for two. One of the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept on. The hosts were welcoming and gracious. We’d be back in a heartbeat.

Tips:

Good base to explore all parts of the island. Would recommend Neist point for sunset, not far from the home. Drive to Staffin stunning for Kilt Rock and Old Man of Storr. Fairly pools and the Cuillins are incredible.

There is not one negative thing I can say about An Clamhan. It was absolutely perfect. A warm welcome was waiting for us from owners Caron and Iain when we arrived. The house had absolutely everything we needed and more. It was ultra clean and everything was to an extremely high standard. Sometimes when you see pictures online of holiday rentals they're never as good as their photos but I'd say this was even better than the great photos online! From the large walk in shower to the comfy bed it was spectacular, relaxing and always cozy. Thank you also for the pizza in the freezer, bread, milk, fruit, wine, beer, biscuits etc and all the other touches that made our stay so wonderful. Thank you Caron and Iain for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We will definitely be back!

Tips:

The house is about 100 yards from The Three Chimneys restaurant and about 4 miles from Dunvegan. There are lots of things to see and do on Skye and we found it a great base for exploring.

What a beautiful place to spend a week. From watching the sunrise over the loch to snuggling down in the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in with the comfiest bedlinen- this was a fabulous find! Caron and Iain met us when we arrived and were lovely hosts providing for our every need with fuel for the fire, a welcome pack of treats, gorgeous Skye toiletries and clear instructions. They responded quickly to any questions too. I would and already have recommended An Clamhan to anyone who visits Skye. We will book again when we next visit Skye.

Tips:

We did the usual tourist things but would particularly recommend Talisker Bay and the Oyster Shack. In Dunvegan the Dunvegan served gorgeous cheese board and excellent cakes and coffee. Also had a good wee shop.

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. All comforts and amenities thought about, providing the most comfortable of stays. A memorable property with a lovely attention to detail. Hosted by brilliantly welcoming people and although left to own devices never felt like we couldn’t contact them if needs be.

Tips:

You can’t go far wrong with the Isle of Skye but particular favourites location wise was Neist Point locally, saw porpoise, dolphins and whales alike from the shore... just make sure to pack some binoculars (although there is a pair in the property too!). Food wise the oyster shed near Carbost(Talisker distillery) was way above expectations.

Fabulous property for two people to escape to. House is very comfortable and felt like a luxury getaway. Caron and Ian were great hosts and made us feel very welcomed to their holiday home. Always available but never needed, the house has everything you need. Dunvegan is only 4 miles away and all Skye’s main tourist attractions are accessible from the house. For a culinary delight book into the Three Chimneys for dinner as its only next door. The welcome pack was fabulous and generous.

Tips:

You do need to drive to get to most of the islands key tourist locations, but the beauty and relaxation in this home and location is worth the drives.

What a totally gorgeous place to spend a few much needed days away. The attention to detail is everywhere - the super comfy bed with sumptuous sheets; the luxury bathroom with its great shower; the living room with the telescope trained on the best spot to see seals; the verandah which catches the early sun;a welcome pack like no other we've ever seen right down to the tomato soup sitting next to the tin opener! Truly a five star holiday cottage.

Tips:

A spectacular part of Skye with lots to do and see. The Three Chimneys Restaurant is literally just down the road and is a must for lunch or dinner (but book in advance). Neist Point is worth a visit as is Dunvegan Castle and the Coral Beach.

I come to Skye regularly and Im always on the look out for new places to stay. This is a wee gem. A wonderful house with amazing views and facilities. You really don't need to bring anything with you. The complimentary hamper is full of goodies including eggs from the chickens next door. Caron and Iain are so welcoming, lovely couple. Nothing is too much trouble. Loved it so much Im going back in October.

Tips:

If you are a foodie then this is a great place to stay as the iconic Three Chimneys restaurant is 100m away. Make sure you book as its always full. Food is amazing and I always eat here when I come to Skye. Dunvegan Castle and Gardens is on the opposite side of the loch and well worth a visit. 29th September 2019:

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at An Clamhan in September 2019 and had the most fabulous stay. The property is a extremely high standard with high quality all fixtures and fittings, it has a very homely and welcoming feel as you enter. We were welcomed by the lovely owners and provided with a very generous welcome pack of provisions which was really helpful for our arrival. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped with everything you could need for self catering including a superb oven/microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine (fab for us as coffee lovers!). There is also a washing machine, which we didn't use, but I'm sure we would on a longer stay. The living area is beautiful, with 2 comfortable sofas and floor to ceiling windows where you can watch the stunning sunrise and sunsets over the Loch across from the house, there is even a fabulous telescope from which we saw the local seals relaxing on rocks in the Loch from (a particular highlight for us!) We also enjoyed use of the log burner in the evenings which added to the cosy feel of the property. The bedroom is large and has a superb hanging unit and plenty of space for your belongings. The bed is a super king and the most comfortable mattress and linens we have ever slept on! Watching the sunrise from the bed was another highlight for us. The bathroom is stunning and the shower is excellent, lovely hot showers after a long, wet walk! The location of the property is great for getting out and about across Skye. Dunvegan is about a 12 minute drive and has a shop with all the provisions you will need and also the Old School restaurant where we had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend. We would also recommend a meal at The Three Chimneys restaurant, next door to the property, where you can have a taste of seafood straight from the Loch in front of you, 5 star food! We can't recommend this property enough, it is definitely 5 star and a great place to stay when visiting Skye. It is a very high quality property, luxurious with a homely feel and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be booking to stay here again next year.
