Very clean and comfortable room. Bathroom was clean and water pressure was great. View from our room was spectacular. Parking is easy and breakfast at the hotel was a short walk.

The cottage is perfect if you need 2 rooms as it has an additional lounge. It also has amazing views both sides. It is very convenient for the ferry. The local shop is walking distance and has vegan products. The cottage is owned by the same family as Uig hotel and Uig lodge, so easy to book a complimentary breakfast or dine in the restaurant. Food is fantastic- especially the salad. If you only need one room, the Hotel is also a great choice. Should you need 2 rooms, the lodge has 2 connected rooms.

This place is in a beautiful location. Views are unparalleled. The owner own the hotel as well and this is where you eat. I had the best breakfast ever and our evening meals were superb. Staff were all clean, respectful and friendly. I met the chef and told him I wanted to kidnap him and take him back to Florida with us!! He refused!!! Seriously. This is a beautiful place to stay.
Tips:You cannot do better than the bar and restaurant called the Uig Hotel

2nd October 2023:
Old Pier Cottages provided such a beautiful, warm, and welcoming space for my husband and I on our trip to Skye. Uig is beyond beautiful. Everywhere you look it's like a movie. The accomodations Billy & Anne have here is top notch. We had a fabulous stay and we look forward to coming back! Beds are so comfortable! Room is spacious with all the amenities you'd need. Not to mention the view... it's incredible. Can't recommend Uig and Old Pier Cottages enough! It's a MUST SEE!
Tips:Since restaurants book quickly we suggest contacting Uig hotel prior to arrival to secure a spot. Portree was close enough for us to go into town and fill up on any supplies we needed for the days we spent sightseeing. You need at least 2 full days to experience this magical place.

Large, well equipped, spotlessly equipped room in a great setting overlooking the harbour. Easy to find with directions provided. Contact-less check in, but breakfast is at the Uig Hotel, with lots of options and great staff.
Tips:Enjoy Skye - it's a great place to visit. While the Old Man of Stohr would bo on most people's to do list, don't miss the Quiraing Lookout. If you want to dine at the Uig Hotel, make sure you book.

We loved our stay. Superb view, quiet, clean, enough space. Small things to improve the life of travelers: add a hook in the bathroom, a support for soap and shampoo in the shower, a support near the sink, a second armchair in the bedroom.
Tips:The food at the Uig hotel is outstanding.

Great view overlooking the bay, comfortable room and a short walk up to the hotel for the best breakfast ever. Highly recommended.
Tips:Book in advance for meals as there aren’t too many places to eat in the area and it gets full. Highly recommend seeing The Fairy Glen, The Quiraing, Old Man of Storr and the Fairy Pools although there is a lot of walking involved to see them properly. We also used the Skye Ferry, the only original turntable ferry left, it was quite expensive at £18 for a single but worth it as it’s nice to keep these things going and a bit different. The drive to and from the ferry was amazing!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Pier Cottage. We loved the quiet location at the water's edge and watching the ferry arriving and departing. The fridge was very useful for keeping drinks cold. Would also recommend the Uig Hotel for breakfast and dinner, but in wet weather you would want to travel up in a car. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Tips:Book everything early as Skye is very busy. The drive around the top of the peninsula is well worth doing and if a keen walker a climb up to Man of Storr is recommended. The scenery is beautiful. Enjoyed a trip to Dunvegan Castle and the lovely gardens.

We found Old Pier Cottage in immaculate condition, and very comfortable to boot. While the breakfast arrangement at UIg Hotel is unusual. it was in fact quite convenient in our case OPC is excellent value, and we would not hesitate to re-book, or to recommend it to friends going that way.
Tips:W had rented a cottage locally fro 9th - 16th June, and took advantage of Uig Hotel for casual drinks and for evening meals. We were treated vet well by the various staff members, and enjoyed our visits. It is very obvious that Bill & Anne have adopted a policy of courteous staff, comfortable facilities and good food at acceptable prices. WE would recommend Uig Hotel both for casual dining, but we would be certain that bedroom facilities would be more than acceptable. Neil & Marian Andrew

Very nice room with a sea view. Super clean, spacious, quiet and easy to park. Bobbie and Anne were wonderful host (and their dog Rosie too). In addition, we ran into car problems and Bobbie was very helpful in trying to help us. In recap, our best accommodation of our trip ;much nicer than Best Western in Inverness, caledonian in Fort William and Apex Grassmarket. Easy to check in and check out.

12th June 2023:
Our stay at the cottage was excellent and to have a very good dinner at The Uig Hotel was marvellous. Billy went to great lengths to help us out. Calmac had done what they’re prone to and cancelled all ferries from Mallaig-Lochboisdale. That meant a very late switch to the Uig-Lochmaddy ferry and we had no overnight accommodation before the following day’s early sailing (we were driving 450 miles from our home in the Yorkshire Dales). Our ‘rescue’ accommodation couldn’t have been better and we had a lovely breakfast at the hotel before catching the ferrry in the morning.

Absolutely a gem of a place, in a quiet pocket of one of the most beautiful places on earth. We had hoped to stay at the Uig Hotel up the road, and despaired when they were booked. But thrilled to realize that Old Pier Cottage B&B is under the same ownership, right down the road, and had availability for our nights. Overjoyed! The waterfront location is so serene and peaceful. This was one of our favorite stays we've ever had in all our travels. Thank you.
Tips:The Uig hotel restaurant will kindly arrange both breakfast (included!) and do their best to accommodate dinner reservations for you when you're staying at the 'sister' cottages, even with late notice. Eat there every chance you get. The dinner was utterly spectacular each night. Can't say enough about the quality of the food, the service, and the setting.

Super cottage with great view. Room was smart and clean. Anne and Billy were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the Uig Hotel was excellent and we also had dinner there several nights. The food was very good and service was excellent. The hotel staff were also friendly and helpful.
Tips:Our favourite things were the scenery and the wildlife. We did three wonderful boat trips, the seal trip from Dunvegan Castle, the SkyeXplorer trip from Uig Pier (dolphins, porpoises, sea eagles (from a distance). whales (very briefly)) and Stardust trip from Portree (dolphins, sea eagles (pretty close)). Scenery-wise we most enjoyed The Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr and the Cuillin Hills. (We think we saw Golden Eagles at the Fairy Pools). Best meals we had were at the Uig Hotel and Dulse and Brose (Portree). Also recommend coffee, cake and admiring the view at the Cuillin Hills Hotel (Portree). Also go somewhere dark and look at the stars!

Old Pier Cottage was our favorite stop in our trip through Scotland. The view from the cottage is absolutely beautiful and you are so close to all of the best hikes in the Isle of Sky. We also were able to go to the Uig Hotel for free breakfast (the owner of the cottage also owns the Uig Hotel) and went there for dinner which was the best dining experience in the Isle of Sky. Lastly and most importantly, our host is such a kind, personable, and hospitable person who made the experience very unique (added bonus of seeing his two beautiful dogs roam around the property with him and you can say hi to them if you're a dog person).

Tips:Fairy Glen is a great place to visit, the car park is free after 8pm and the whole place is a lot quieter then. If you're planning on visiting the Old Man of Storr recommend you arrive early -was very busy as we returned to the car after our visit around lunch time.

Beautiful guest house right on Uig Bay. Large modern room with all the amenities and private car park right outside door. Meals are easily accessible and taken at Uig Hotel right up the road. It was a little warm in our room the first nught but was easily accommodated by the standing floor fan the hosts popped in our room. My only suggestion for the property would be to install shower dispensers with shampoo and body wash instead of the individual dispensers in floor of shower which were difficult to reach and did not pump/dispense easily. All in all we thoroughly loved Old Pier Cottage and its tranquility away from the madness of Portree.

Fantastic B & B. Clean, comfortable room and bathroom. Bed very comfortable and beautiful views. Lovely and quiet and owners very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the Uig Hotel was excellent. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if in the area.
Tips:Dinner at the Uig Hotel was fabulous and staff amazing. Fairy Glen and the local waterfalls worth seeing. If you are taking the ferry to Lewis and Harris make sure you check it is running. We had it booked and Calmac did not advise us there was a problem. We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Old Pier Cottage. I would like to offer constructive criticism but just keep doing what you are already doing. If anything, I would only suggest changing the photos on Hotels.com as I don't think they do the rooms justice as they are even better in real life.
Tips:The Ferry Inn was a great craic but all of the pubs/hotels locally provided great service. If you are going to eat locally in Uig though, book early! The Ferry Inn had a three week waiting list!

We are fortunate enough to have travelled extensively and eaten at some renowned restaurants. We found Old Pier Cottage and the services of Uig Hotel a combination of the best of them all rolled into one. The location takes your breath away and the welcome from Billy was an added bonus. The room surpassed expectations. The view is amazing but the photos and description of the inside do not do it justice. It was perfect. Billy is an exceptional host; friendly, helpful and extremely generous. We’re glad we scribbled down his tips for the area which kept us away from the masses. One of my favorite stays during my week holiday! The place was incredible- the room was cozy, the bed was super comfortable and the views left me speechless. They even accommodated my friends and I with a late dinner reservation at the Ugi hotel when we couldn’t find anything available last minute due to covid and poor planning on our part- the meal ended up being one of our favorites from the trip! Thank you so much for a magical stay! Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone!!

Old Pier Cottage is simply a delight! The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms were very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The welcome was warm and friendly. The only drawback, is that it is an uphill walk to the Hotel for dinner! We took the car and walked back! Highly recommended, we hope to visit and stay again one day.
Tips:Covid-19 has affected many attractions on Skye this year, the distillery for example, but not the beautiful and spectacular scenery! Just visit and soak up the peace, tranquillity and beauty.

Our room was excellent - very clean, comfortable and quiet. TV and fridge and private modern shower room. Bedroom overlooked beautiful small bay where Calmac ferries run to the islands. Owners friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!
Tips:Meal possibilities in immediate area quite limited re choice during this Covid period, but meals always available at Uig Hotel nearby - Old Pier Cottage has an 'arrangement' with them - you won't go hungry, but make sure you book. There is a small shop within easy walking distance for snacks and treats! Great place if you believe in fairies (we do!) - Fairy Glen is nearby (walking distance) and the Fairy Pools about an hour's drive - both well worth a visit! Plenty to see if you love the countryside.

Excellent stay. Loved the location of the cottage and the hotel. Staff at the hotel were all excellent and enthusiastic. Food was also excellent for dinner; especially desert. Good varied menu. The Cottage itself was immaculate and the views from the bedroom were stunning overlooking the harbour.Beautiful, pristine bathroom. It also has the added advantage of being linked to the Uig Hotel a few hundred yards away.
Tips:There may be a few cafe's nearby but we only ever used the Hotel. The food was awesome.Wonderful breakfast and delicious dinners all very reasonably priced. But what made it for me was the wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for you.In this present Covid situation the main thing is hygiene and they went above and beyond, constantly cleaning and sanitizing all safety in place
