12th October 2020:
Old Pier Cottage is simply a delight! The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms were very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The welcome was warm and friendly. The only drawback, is that it is an uphill walk to the Hotel for dinner! We took the car and walked back! Highly recommended, we hope to visit and stay again one day.
Tips:Covid-19 has affected many attractions on Skye this year, the distillery for example, but not the beautiful and spectacular scenery! Just visit and soak up the peace, tranquillity and beauty.

Fantastic location . Room was great ,very clean and such an amazing view from the window . Definitely recommend the breakfast and dinner at the Uig hotel . Felt very safe during these difficult COVID times . This place has got it spot on . The only minor thing would be a shaver charging point in the bathroom would be helpful
Tips:Cakes from the old bakery is a must !!

Absolutely gorgeous! So clean, fresh, and quiet. Excellent view from the room. Breakfast and dinner at Uig Hotel was delicious, filling, and really well priced. They also had great vegetarian options. I completely enjoyed my stay and would recommend this to anyone who stays in Skye.
Tips:Location is very close to the Fairy Glen and the Quaraing if you're planning to see either.

Our room was excellent - very clean, comfortable and quiet. TV and fridge and private modern shower room. Bedroom overlooked beautiful small bay where Calmac ferries run to the islands. Owners friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!
Tips:Meal possibilities in immediate area quite limited re choice during this Covid period, but meals always available at Uig Hotel nearby - Old Pier Cottage has an 'arrangement' with them - you won't go hungry, but make sure you book. There is a small shop within easy walking distance for snacks and treats! Great place if you believe in fairies (we do!) - Fairy Glen is nearby (walking distance) and the Fairy Pools about an hour's drive - both well worth a visit! Plenty to see if you love the countryside.

Excellent stay. Loved the location of the cottage and the hotel. Staff at the hotel were all excellent and enthusiastic. Food was also excellent for dinner; especially desert. Good varied menu. We also enjoyed the Isle of Skye brewery beers and popped back for drinks for the second night. We were impressed with the Covid adjustments too and thought the hotel didn’t lose too much atmosphere in comparison to other places.

Incredibly lovely and helpful! Amazing location with a stunning view, super clean with great hospitality. Couldn't recommend more
Tips:Uig hotel has great food and lovely staff (recommend the strognoff). Quiraing trail - be prepared but lovely walk. Kilt rock, fairy glen, fairy pools (loads of midge repelant), swim in rha waterfall. Walk around Portree fish and chips are great especially by the harbour). Tour around talisker brewery as well!

The Cottage itself was immaculate and the views from the bedroom were stunning overlooking the harbour.Beautiful, pristine bathroom. It also has the added advantage of being linked to the Uig Hotel a few hundred yards away.
Tips:There may be a few cafe's nearby but we only ever used the Hotel. The food was awesome.Wonderful breakfast and delicious dinners all very reasonably priced. But what made it for me was the wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for you.In this present Covid situation the main thing is hygiene and they went above and beyond, constantly cleaning and sanitizing all safety in place

Absolutely stunned at the view. Was sincerely giddy when I picked up the keys. Huge room, comfy bed, beautiful yard, and breath taking one in a million views. Putting on my return list and telling all my friends.
Tips:So many places to hike to and just see from the roadside. Give yourself plenty of time to just soak it all in. Reservations for dinner in Portree and Uig are essential. Meringue and chantilly cream dessert at Uig hotel is to die for.

This was by far the best place we stayed in our 23 days of our vacation. The view was amazing, it is very quiet, and having access to the main hotel was wonderful. The staff were so wonderful and friendly. Our best and favorite place we stayed at.
Tips:I initially was hesitant to stay here versus in Portree, however this was by far the best choice if you want quiet and beauty. The food was great at the hotel, and the area is so beautiful. Its a great walk from the Big Hotel to the Fairy Glen. We also drove the upper island loop which was so beautiful.

Tips:Best to rent a car if going to Skye. You can get around by bus, but it can be tricky. The restaurant at the Uig Hotel is wonderful!! Even if you rent a car, take a day tour through Skye Scenic Tours. We did the 8 hour trip leaving from Portree. Our tour guide, Donald, was the best!!!
