Katie was the loveliest person, helped us up to the room with our bags with no hesitation. The team have done amazing with the place in a short space of time and we can’t wait to go back.

Tips:

Few food places to eat up at Broadford and Portree but don’t wast your time going to uig unless you are going for a ferry. The road is very tricky. Take a trip on the glass boat from Kyle of lockalsh it was a lovely day and the guide was very knowledgeable.

All went smoothly although we were missing bowls for breakfast but this was soon rectified by the staff. Ideal location and easy check in.

Tips:

Nice and easy to find and had good facilities and a comfortable bed. Indian restaurant 400 yards away (Taste of India) was very good but you will need to book in advance. So much to see on Skye that we’ll have to come back!

Communication throughout the process was clear and timely. The balance between being available and giving space was well struck. The environment is relaxing and comfortable.

Tips:

We dined at Saucy Mary’s restaurant & bar - food was lovely and staff were very attentive and pleasant. We benefitted from the foresight to book - and would suggest others do the same to avoid disappointment.

Jade and Craig are great hosts. Very very helpful and always reachable. Room was very clean and I love that they only “reclean” it when you specifically ask for it. Sustainability and privacy on point. The little fridge in room is perfect as there’s no breakfast room or anything. I would’ve wished for a little more shelving to put stuff (especially in the bathroom) but that’s just a little note.

Lovely place very clean and tidy. Guest house kept us up to date about gaining access to our rooms ,breakfast items in room and also in the corridor if we ran out of stuff.only negative thing was there was no place in room to hang up our clothes apart from that great place very central and close to bridge

Easy to find, easy to access, immaculately clean. I liked that I could have breakfast in my room. A selection of cereals, bars, yogurts and drinks were on offer. The room could be serviced on request. In order to get the cups and bowls washed and dried each day that request had to be made. This flexibility is a great idea though a little more room or a wider shelf would make it easier to deal with.

Tips:

A good Indian restaurant is situated a mere 5 minutes walk away on turning left leaving the guest house. A further 3 restaurants are situated about 10 minutes walk away in the opposite direction.

Hotel is ideally situated for exploring both the Island of Skye as well as the surrounding mainland. Staff were fantastic as was the facilities offered. Really liked receiving text messages to keep us updated and to give us contact points should we have any problems.

Tips:

We took advice from the guide in the hotel for evening meals and all meals were great. Did find that the restaurant s filled up very quickly so unless arriving at 5 would suggest booking.great hotel and great break, we will definitely be back.

The location is great...a beautiful little spot. The contactless check in was simple and the communication from the guest house great. The room was lovely and clean, a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. There's no cooked breakfast but we were happy with the selection of cereals, porridge & breakfast bars. A nice large shower which worked perfectly. We will absolutely be back.

Had a lovely stay, room was nice and spacious and everything was provided. No real contact with staff as the main building is still being renovated but appreciated the messages re-iterating the number to call for any issues. Guest house is in an ideal location of a lovely village.

Tips:

Had 2 lovely meals at the King Haakon bar, food was lovely, views fantastic, nice atmosphere and the staff were lovely despite being kept very busy. Visited the fairy pools which were beautiful on a gorgeous day and scenery all around is stunning.

Only staying for 1 night but room was excellent and suited our needs perfectly. From the in room breakfast, fridge and contactless entry. The only small complaint I have is that there was no hot water in the tap either at night on arrival or in the morning and a threshold strip between the bedroom and bathroom would be good as the bathroom floor has lifted at one side and I banged my foot off it during the night. It would also look better as it’s a nice room but the floor looks unfinished.

Tips:

Not staying long enough to comment.

First class accomodation. Our room was clean tidy and spacious with all we needed for our 2 night stay. Location is great base for seeing the island. Booking was hassle free and it's clear that our hosts go out of their way to make this a very enjoyable stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Tips:

Our trip was 2 nights in mid May. The roads around the island were fairly quiet and most parking places had spaces available. I would thoroughly recommend a leisurely drive around the island and Dunvegan Castle and Portree shouldn't be missed. A particular recommendation is the King Haaken bar ( a 10 minute stroll from the accommodation) which was very friendly, lively and with great " no nonsense" bar food.

Room was lovely, and bed was really comfy. Our stay was very relaxing just what you need for exploring the island and we were made to feel very welcome. Highlight for me was the whirlpool bath, i didnt want to get out. 🤣 would be great to go back again when renovations are fully complete as it could be a stunning place with gardens and conservetory at the back.

Tips:

I would recommend a short drive up the road to the Hebridean Inn at Broadford for food and drinks. It was really good and reasonably priced. Also Dunvegan castle and gardens and the drive to the quairaing, thats a great view. And finally do the walk to the Old man of Storr its well worth the effort. 😁

We had a two night stay at the Isle of Skye Guest House and wished we’d booked for longer. The location was perfect and the accommodation surpassed our expectations. We had a large, comfortable and clean room with a luxurious bathroom with lovely toiletries included. The continental breakfast provided in the room had lots of variety and suited us perfectly. The team looking after the house were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Loads of parking available and lovely grounds too. Within walking distance of the Skye Bridge, Kyleakin and places to eat. Would definitely recommend to others and hope we’ll be back again soon.

Tips:

There’s so much to see and do both on Skye and across the Bridge in Kyle of Lochalsh and Plockton. We have been visiting Skye for many years but never fail to find new gems. Would recommend the ferry crossing from Glenelg to Kylereha. The road is single track but the views are spectacular on both sides. We spent time in Broadford, Portree, Staffin and Uig. The drive from Uig across the Quiraing to Staffin is breathtaking. The sunset at Elgol is not to be missed. Head in to Broadford and take a left just before the Broadford Hotel. The views of the Cuillins are spectacular at every turn in the road and Elgol is magical. The guest house recommended dinner at the Taste of India just a few minutes walk from the roundabout and the food was delicious. I could go on forever. Just explore and enjoy this magical island.

Tips:

Hosts are very helpful and provide timely information. Don't be put off by previous reviews as renovations internally have recently taken place and external renovations are likely to take place in due course as per the owners information. We highly recommend Caberfeidh for pizza in Portree.

Room 9 has been recently constructed from a ground floor extension added in many years ago to an extended detached house constructed in 1912. The room was spotlessly clean, well heated and all furniture, bedding, furniture, fittings etc, are new. We were allowed to get on with our break without interruption and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The on site manager(s) kept in touch by text/email. We intend to return and look forward to seeing the development fully completed.

Tips:

The village of Kyleakin, overlooking the Skye Bridge, is about a 10/15 minute walk from the property and there are several restaurants/hostelries there. There is an Indian Restaurant about 10 minutes walk away on the road to Portree. Guests will receive a keypad access code for the main door entry. There is a local bus service if required.

The place is a bit run down looking on the outside but on entering it is currently being transformed into a very well decorated and comfortable environment. The downstairs lounge is very grand and a lovely place to sit. Our room was room 6 and very nicely decorated though we had nowhere to hang any of our clothes. There were plenty of choices of hot drinks in our room on arrival (and tunnock's tea cakes too Mm Mm). The breakfast bars and porridge and cereals were also a bonus with fresh milk in a mini fridge too. I was even able to chill some wine a a couple of beers in there. I think we were the first guests to stay there as the beautiful newly fitted shower looked as if it had never been used. On request I was brought a hairdryer as we had stayed the previous 4 nights in a POD in Glencoe area and I had been unable to wash my hair as the shower there only remained hot for about a minute and a half. This shower was a luxury in comparison. We could have done with being able to open a window as the whole bathroom became really very damp from condensation as there was no way to air the room. I used the towels to wipe the shower and walls down. Apologies for not reusing them and requesting fresh ones over the three nights. The next door rooms are very close and as there was a family occupying 3 of them, there was a lot of knocking and banging of doors as they went from room to room. During our stay the transformation taking place with all of the fittings being added made it look so much better. Both Craig and Jade were incredibly helpful with suggestions for eating out during our stay. Great tips. Good luck to you both with the guest house.

Tips:

We ate on the first night at The Taste of India. Only 300 metres walk from the guest house. Food there was very nice and really reasonably priced. We had two courses each with rice and naan bread plus a large cobra and glass of wine and it cost just £42. The fish and chip takeaway Skye Bridge Seafoods is also a short walk away and the food is absolutely delicious. Less than £10 a head. Jade and Craig suggested we try Saucy Mary's in Kyleakin which is less than 10 minutes walk and was absolutely lovely. Food is good and cooked very well. Jade said to book and we did but happened to be the only ones there that evening so had a choice of any seat in the house. Great service and nice clean place and very good value too at approx £15 per head for main courses. Fantastic trip out to the Fairy Pools was probably the highlight of our visit! Really worth the effort to go as the views are spectacular and it was just magical. This was our first ever visit to Skye and we were comfortable, warm, and were welcomed by Craig and Jade and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Very many thanks from both myself and David! Xx
