11th July 2021:
Owlswood was a home away from home and in an idyllic location in the village of Edinbane. Karen was a lovely host and was very approachable.
Tips:Two fantastic restaurants on your doorstep that cater for all budgets. Tasting menu at the Edinbane Lodge including their own gin using botanicals from their garden and the Edinbane Inn serving delicious dinners to suit everyone. Both restaurants seem to take pride in using locally sourced produce which is reflected in the dishes they serve. The staff at both restaurants were both friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit. The north of the island has some dramatic landscape and worth the drive. Dunvegan castle is set in a stunning location and has very tasty cakes too!

We were so appreciative of Karin’s warm hospitality at Owlswood. The rooms and whole facility were spotless and well equipped. The breakfasts were hearty, delicious and accommodating to my husband’s gluten sensitivity. We wished we were staying longer but so happy we found it!
Tips:This is a great location if you are interested in the many hikes in the northern part of Skye and also handy to the Uist ferry. Edinbane Inn is a block away and though we didn’t eat there we enjoyed spending time in the pub listening to live music and chatting with the locals.

5th January 2017:
Beautiful, spacious accommodation. Very well equipped. It is modern and spotless. The wood burner in the lounge kept us cosy and heated the whole house. It was wet when we were there so couldn't use the lovely patio area or swing in adjoining woods. We had a wheelchair user with us and the house was easily accessible. Thank you to Karen and Phil for the warm welcome.
Tips:We didn't wander far as were joining family to celebrate New Year. The Edinbane Inn is nearby. It provides delicious meals and has live music during the tourist season. The Edinbane Pottery is just across the road. It has a wide range.

Both Phil and Karen were brilliant, pointing out things to do and see. The property is first class, great location for exploring. Cannot express how impressed with everything we were.
Tips:Neist point was cool and a good walk. Quiraing was a brilliant walk, the dinosaur footprints on the west coast amazed our children. IsleOrnsay pub well worth a visit after a days walking real fire good food and drink. Oysters at the oyster shack near Talisker distillery beautiful. Old school rooms restaurant in Dunvegan also good food. The list could go on I would suggest investigate, explore and try yourself.

11th April 2016:
Staying at Owlswood is like staying at a 5 star hotel...but better! Karen and Phil are wonderful people. Very helpful and great fun. The accommodation is absolutely stunning and equipped to an excellent standard. Edinbane is set in a perfect location on Skye, and the views from Owlswood through the woods are beautiful.
Tips:There is so much to do in and around Edinbane, that it's difficult to know where to start! Specifically, there is a lovely pottery in Edinbane. The Edinbane Inn serves incredibly good food, (with great food for vegetarians) and on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday each week there is fabulous live music from local musicians. Nearby there is Dunvegan Castle to visit, and from there it is possible to go on boat trips seal spotting. There is a diving centre at Stein. There is a golf course at Skeabost and there is also a riding stable ten minutes away. This is all aside from the spectacular views that are all around. Skye is breathtakingly beautiful, and Owlswood is a perfect place to stay on Skye!

Owlswood has been designed and equipped to an extremely high standard with the most comfortable beds, designer bathrooms and a a great kitchen and utility. The accommodation is spacious - particularly the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Tips:The Edinbane Inn with bar and restaurant is only 2mins away with lovely staff and fantastic food. We loved the art cafes - Single Track for coffee and orange spice cake, Red Roof for lunch platters and Ellisadder for breakfast. Also try the new pie cafe at the existing Glendale Hotel - yum!

31st May 2015:
Lovely property that is well located with 2 pubs nearby. The interior is tastefully done and has everything that you need for a wonderful holiday on Skye. Karen and Phil (the owners) are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Overall an excellent self catering choice in a lovely and best placed location.
Tips:Coral Beach on the west of Dunvegan Castle is beautiful. We saw Seals playing in the sea and Sea Eagles up above. For good food and live folk music the Edinbane Inn is within a stone throw away of Owlswood. For families with children, there is a fabulous play area about 2 minute walk away. Our 5 year old loved the wooden house! And we loved the zip wire!

The location and property were excellent. Everything very accessible from this house. Property finished to a high standard. Owners really nice and helpful. Great kids play park, pub and bus stop within a stones throw. Highly recommend this house.
Tips:The whole island is well worth looking at but you'll know that if you're at the north of Skye. The Stein Inn is not far away and does really nice food at great prices. Mobile reception at the house isn't great but wf-fi is excellent. Speak to the owners, great people with good local knowledge.
