9th October 2019:

We had booked the Studio for mum and daughter, dad and son enjoyed a windy night in Benny the camper. The studio has a wonderful view over the meadows to the beach, also the camper had a lovely view from the bed into the countryside. Both room and camper were spotlessly clean! Our host Steve was very friendly and we had some really nice chats. We enjoyed this place for its tranquility and remoteness and wish Steve and his family all the best for their future.

Tips:

Coming from Old man of Storr, we were plannig to visit Neist Point Lighthouse from here, but it was raining heavily that day, so we decided to head back to the Scottish "mainland" and spent the rest of the day in Eilean Donan Castle. Clouds B&B is a very beautiful place !

Very friendly and helpful host (Steve). A lovely room, with wonderful views towards the Outer Hebrides. Although breakfast is 'self service' and not cooked, a good variety of items was provided. Everything was immaculate. Plenty of information helpfully provided in advance, too.

Tips:

The ferry port of Uig is about 3 miles away, so Clouds B&B is in a good location if you want to take an early morning ferry from Uig. For dining, the two restaurants in Uig are the nearest places, although we didn't have time to try them.

26th August 2019:

Though the weather was not very good at that time we had a very nice stay at Clouds B&B. The Nolan family is very nice, the apartment is lovely and very well furnished. We had a lot of fun listening music on the record player, "back to the 70's" for a while !!! We really appreciated to have a fridge and a dinning area so that we can have a light meal without going to the restaurant every night ! We just missed a warming device (not to cook but at least to warm a soup) ! Last point : breakfast may be improved a little bit, we were expecting local or home made products, especially as the description on your website suggests a real eco-responsible approach, which also involves food...

Tips:

We went to the Uig Hotel twice, food was very good. Many things to do and see arround : Castles, Falls, Man of Storr, Quiraing... Regarding the location, be aware (though the place is amaizing) it is not very central and it could take time to travel through the south of the island. We definitely recommand Clouds !!!

The only downside of our stay at the Clouds B&B is that it was too short ... it's a spectacular place, tastefully decorated, clean, welcoming, in a wonderful location. In the room there is everything needed for a fantastic breakfast and Steve is a very nice, friendly and approachable person. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future, I really recommend it.

Tips:

To see around there is everything ... every corner has a wonderful panorama ... it's near Uig where there are some places to eat.

A most beautiful retreat, Steve and Lorraine have created a little paradise to spend a vacation. The room was perfect in everyway, The continental breakfast was superb and plentiful,A comfortable bed to sleep in,a lovely bathroom and shower with all you need supplied,TV,fridge, sofa and a veranda with perfect coastal views, specially the misty sunrise and the beautiful sunsets. The peacefulness was just' What the doctor ordered '. we were originally going to visit for 10 days , but hospital appointment meant we could only come for 5 days much to our sorrow, and now too our disappointment. Steve was always available for help and tips. The Nolans have created a little haven for you to rest and relax, and we hope to be back to finish our tour of Skye. Thank you very much Steve and Lorraine.

Tips:

There is a couple of hotels and a bar diner in Uig, only a 5 minute drive away. Easy to visit most part of the island , within an hours drive or less ,Duntulm viewpoint and fort is 15 miutes , Quiraing is 30 minutes ,Fairy Pools and Dunvegan Castle was a great day out, Don't forget to visit Fairy Glen 10 minute drive from guest house, on the edge of UIG , A beautiful little place.

Well recommended b&b,Lovely clean and spacious accommodation, with it being called clouds that’s just where it is,IN THE CLOUDS”

Tips:

Visit dunvegan castle and then only 5 mins along the road is a hidden gem(coral beach) stunning views across to the outer Hebrides.. 3 chimneys restaurant also in the same area..book in advance needed.. Unfortunately ran out of time to do talisker distillery which I’m disappointed about.. We did part of old man of Storr, unfortunately the weather was poor.. Town centre Portree is lovely, plenty restaurant’s for food and shops for any/everything... Lots more to see,we only had 2 days not nearly enough time...

Honestly one of the best stays we had had in many years. A beautiful room, very clean and tidy, with enough stuff to make your stay pleasant. The hosts really do a good work to provide their guests what they need and so the room is full with whatever you need: towels, sheets, tv, books, kettle, a small fridge, etc and fully loaded breakfast with a great view!

Amazing apartment, lovingly fitted out and designed, perfect breakfast offers, impressive landscape, perfect for exploring Isle of Skye. You'll surely feel comfortable and very welcome as did we!

Tips:

Be sure to make the Quiraing Tour (we recommend making it the other way round, this is to start with the uphill climb and return along the way below the cliffs, especially if the ground is wet and muddy)! If your kids want to see seals, visit Dunvegan Castle (the castle and especially the gardens are worth a visit by all means), there's a colony of seals living nearby.
