Bracken Brae was marvelous! Our host, Jasmine, was very kind and accommodating. The location is superb for exploring the southern end of Skye and we would love to come stay again.
Tips:The Inn at Aird a Bhasair has an excellent dinner menu and is a short walk or drive from Bracken Brae. If you are up for a hike, I recommend the beach near the point of Sleat and if your are brave enough, hike over to the point itself.

An excellent stay with a great view and friendly owners. Breakfast delivered to the room each morning for us to enjoy out on the balcony.
Tips:A bit of a drive out there but had no issues getting there in the dark with google maps. If in the off season and eating locally make sure your at the pub before 8:30pm as the kitchen closes earlier.

Bracken Brae is such a comfortable, beautifully designed and furnished guest house. It is set on a hill and the large patio windows and covered deck allow you a lovely sea view. The breakfasts at Bracken Brae were the best we have had in Scotland. The cinnamon rolls and homemade granola were especially delicious. Jasmine and Willie were very welcoming hosts and we were happy to have met and chatted with them. We are happy to highly recommend a stay at Bracken Brae.
Tips:We would recommend eating at Ardvasar Inn, which is just a few minutes from Bracken Brae. In Portree, we would recommend Chuillin for delicious seafood. We found that Bracken Brae was in a beautiful area of Skye, with easy access to the ferry from Armadale to Mallaig. We toured much of the island from here and were always happy to return to a quieter corner of Skye, with beautiful views over the water.

Young dynamic couple - spacious room - great breakfast - futureproof and sustainable
Tips:in Broadford : The Sprig : modern interior - nice place and good food (price / quality) ! Red Skye : more classic, more refined than The Sprig Overall: friendly staff Things to do : no tips, we only stayed 1 night (holidays always too short ;-) )

We really enjoyed our stay with Bracken Brae: the room was spacious and clean, breakfast each morning was tasty and prompt, and the location/view was amazing. The only issue we had was that the room heated up quite a bit during the last night of our stay, even though the heat wasn’t on. We opened the patio door to cool down the room.
Tips:We ate at the restaurant down the road twice, and it was very tasty/convenient.

Couldn’t have been more welcoming. Jasmine is a lovely host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and give us a hand when we needed it. The homemade breakfast is so good and we looked forward to it every morning. Thank you for welcoming us into your lovely part of the world.
Tips:If you’re up for a hike, I can’t recommend walking to the Point of Sleat lighthouse, stopping at Camas Daraich enough!

We had an amazing stay here. As I mentioned in my trip advisor review: Jasmine was so friendly and gave us excellent recommendations for the Isle of Skye. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the views were as beautiful as advertised. It was a wonderful stay overall!
Tips:If you'd like to dine at the local inn, make a reservation in advance. In fact, I would say reservations are strongly advised anywhere on the island!

Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Loved the private deck and could look at that view forever. Jasmine was the perfect host and provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning. This was one of our favourite stops while on our tour of Scotland.

The view from the room is stunning. The accommodation was very comfortable and well equipped. Will and Jasmine were both very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and delivered promptly to our room. The inn in the village was good for a meal, but the sister hotel was excellent for a meal and the location was amazing. Being near to the mainline ferry service was a great help although the bridge was only about 12 miles away.

Thank you Jasmine and William for an amazing holiday on Isle of Skye. Your B&B is stunning. The view from the balcony where we could have breakfast. The range of breakfast options including plant based, homemade, with a coffee machine. Being delivered to our door so we are able to have it in our room or on the balcony. This makes it very relaxing as well. The decor is simple but elegant. Everything we needed, heated towel racks, good water pressure for shower and a rain head. Heated towel racks. The bed is very comfortable too. We also appreciate your flexibility and providing a relaxed stay. Happy to recommend to all and would definitely return when next in Scotland. Cheers Janette and Evan
Tips:Restaurant, Breakish on A87 called Red Skye excellent meals and service. Cafes, lean to coffee A87 Ashaig turn right instead of left when heading to Broadford. Stables cafe at Armadale Castle. Good coffee and lovely lunch option at a reasonable price. Whisky tasting Torabhaig is well worth visiting. Elgols stunning drive and do a boat trip at Elgol. Lots of marine life. Plus great views of the Cuillin Hills .

The most excellent stay of our >6 stays in Schotland. From design, to welcoming vibe, to intentional homemade food. We were actually already looking for an excuse to go back. Although it might be highly personal: the matrass of room 1 might need an update in a while, our backs were struggling with the softness.
Tips:Perfectly assessible for a trip to all the Skye mustsees: The Storr, The Fairy Pools and Fairy Glenn etc. Would recommend Deli Gasta in Broadford.

Nice location for a peaceful stay - birdsong, horses for neighbours and lovely views towards the sea. Yet, a great pub/restaurant in 5-10 mins walking distance (downhill there, uphill back!), a general store, ceramic studio and artist's gallery just a little bit further and the very pretty ferry port (with gift shops) too. All within about a 15 min ish walk. Host was very friendly and helpful, while her breakfasts were delicious. Room very light, airy and comfortable and bathroom handwash smelt divine - I bought some from the Highland Soap Company in Fort William on the way home!
Tips:Book ahead if you want to eat at the local pub (The Inn at Àird a' Bhàsair) to be sure of a table. Or, order takeaway pizzas from there (they recommend to request them for 6.30pm or earlier as they are very busy between 6.30pm and 8pm) and take them back to eat on the balcony and admire the view.

Absolutely amazing B&B, we had a lovely time. Jasmine was so accommodating, went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Providing us with beautiful home cooked food, breakfast & dinner as we went out of season. Was also very helpful Providing us with transport to & from the ferry. Thank you so much, hope to stay with you again soon 😊
Tips:Great walks from this B&B, in the middle between Armadale & the Forest Walks. Ideal location & stunning views wherever you go. Also a great Fish & Chip Van on the Saturday night 😊

Lovely BnB. The breakfast was amazing both mornings. We LOVED the view out of the window. The bed was rather soft. My husband has a bad back so a firmer bed is best for him, the soft bed was rough on him. Whenever you replace the beds I would recommend doing something firmer.
Tips:Inn at Aird a Bhasair had delicious dinner options.

An unexpected gem . A superb location with a covered balcony and outstanding views over the sound it would be gorgeous to sit out in the evening or for breakfast. Unfortunately on our stay the weather was foul with high winds and horizontal rain beating against the full height sliding glass doors and it was fantastic. The room was warm comfortable, well furnished and a lovely bathroom. We spent a lovely evening just reading and chatting and watching the weather outside, there is a TV but we didn't even turn it on the views were better. The breakfast brought to the room was also excellent. We only booked for one night but wished we had taken an extra night will definitely return.
Tips:Top tip would be to follow Jasmines instructions on travel and directions that come with the booking confirmation, they are spot on.

This is a fabulous B&B. Lovely accommodations with a great deck and view. Having a small ridge in the room is really convenient. Owners could not be nicer and they had great suggestions for day trips. The B&B is fairly far down the Sleat peninsula so a drive (on good roads) to Portree and the northern areas of Skye BUT this peninsula is gorgeous, has lots to do and great food and is not crowded with tourists.

Exactly what we were looking for in our stay on Skye. South of the isle which meant we spent a little time driving on trips to the north, but walking distance to the Mallaig ferry. Lovely clean, spacious room and great breakfast. Fridge in room was a bonus and the views were spectacular over the water.
Tips:Day trip to Mallaig on ferry possible, we found 4 hours enough. Inn @ Aird a’ Bhasair was very welcoming with homely food and the only evening eating place in waking distance. The next best place for eating out casually was their sister hotel, but not serving at the time we went due to staff shortages. Portree is bigger than Broadford and has more facilities. Lovely stay at Bracken Brae in this new build which felt like you were the first to use. It is very well thought out fabulous shower, plenty electrical points and good WiFi connection. Extremely comfortable king size bed and an added bonus small fridge to chill drinks. The view from the covered balcony is beautiful. During COVID many b&b are not doing cooked breakfast but here Jasmine offers a really good variety of home made rolls with a choice of fillings. I would highly recommend homemade granola with homemade yogurt and fruit wished I’d got the recipe. Liked the location as only a few minutes from the Armadale ferry and if you visit skye going passed Glenfinnan (where the Harry Potter train passes) and Mallaig is definitely the most picturesque rote. I think this was great value for money as the room was what you would expect from a top London hotel.

we stayed in a very nice and cozy room with wonderful views. All the family was really friendly and helpful during all our stay. It's was a great choice!
Tips:The first day we arrived quite late to Skye and Willy recommended us a short trip to visit some of the closest beaches. They were really nice and not very crowded. There is a shop near Bracken Brae with petrol station, with food and all the necessary stuff

We had an amazing stay here on the Isle of Skye. It was so relaxing to get away and be in a more secluded area. The views and breakfast was amazing. I would recommend to anyone!
Tips:We had rented a car and went around the whole island stopping at different places. 1. Sligachan Old Bridge 2. The Storr 3. Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls 4. Fairy Glen 5. Dunvegan Castle 6. Talisker Distillery 7. Fairy Pools

Stayed for one night. Lovely room with wonderful view - we were lucky to have excellent weather. Spotlessly clean with a lot of attention to detail - eg fresh milk in the fridge, tot of whisky. Excellent homemade breakfast included local produce and very freshly picked fruit! Jasmine was extremely helpful and informative. Unfortunately we were only there for one night.
Tips:Local Pub is excellent. Bus from Portree infrequent but really friendly and helpful driver. Within 20 minutes walk from Armadale ferry, so can be reached without a car, although there is a steep hill at the end!

A delightful stay. Thank you for the gorgeous breakfast cooked with care using home grown ingredients. What a view from my room. A really special location and family. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I did.
Tips:Perhaps visit the land based Rubha Phoil permaculture centre in Armadale for their woodland walk, view points, beach trawl and swim and general understanding of how permaculture can help us live in rhythm with the natural world.

Jasmine is a wonderful host and the home is beautifully done. Amenities is great and view is fantastic. Loved the short stay at Braken Brae. Wished we had an extra day to laze around and just soak it in at her lovely home and interact with the family which we would have enjoyed doing.

We stayed in the bedroom in the house, which was lovely, with amazing views. Jasmine was a great, relaxed host and made us feel very welcome. She gave us useful advice on what to see and do, and we felt like we were staying with a friend!
Tips:Evening meals at Ardvasar Inn (5 mins walk) and Hotel Eilean Iarmain (15 min drive) were both good. Staff at museum library at Armadale Castle were great, helped with tracing ancestry (no fee, just asked for a donation), but also helped us interpret some of the crofting records. Walk to sandy beach more strenuous than expected, but worth it.

Definitly the best b&b we have stayed in during our NC500 route. Great design of the room, bathroom and balcony with gorgeous views out to the sea. Tasty breakfast.
Tips:We went to Creelers to have a nice dinner. I would stay at least 2-3 nights to enjoy the area.

Beautifully decorated room and en suite, lovely decking area for sitting out and enjoying a cup of tea (or glass of whisky thoughtfully provided by hosts!) and breath-taking views over the Sound of Sleat from the breakfast room - nearly distracted us from the delicious breakfast served up! Helpful hosts and a thoroughly enjoyable stay!
Tips:The local pub (the Inn at Aird a Bhasair) is a short walk away - we had a fabulous but reasonably priced meal there with a lovely buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff, highly recommended and lovely not to have to drive anywhere.

the stay was perfect. The owner is very kind and facilitates everything so that we feel at home. The breakfast is spectacular, overlooking the lake. It is very good to sleep there and the next day take the ferry to Mallig at 5 minutes from there. The room very comfortable and clean. The house is new construction. We would go back without a doubt. Highly recommended to visit the island of Skye and return at the end of the day. This is what we did. There is a restaurant nearby (3 min) for good dinner and at a good price.

When you travel so far to reach a destination, you always fear that what you find will never match your expectations , Bracken Brae betters all ! The room was fantastic, but the view from your own personal balcony was breathtaking, ever changing, always stunning. The welcome we received was warm and friendly . The room was stylish, with some great touches and packed with information of where to visit and to eat. But breakfast was the best, as you sat at the wooden table with an incredible view of the sea and mountains, you were served a delicious home cooked full breakfast, with home made bread and jams. Don’t hesitate, just book !!

Lovely friendly reception. Peaceful place, where we sat and watched a hind and her fawn. Loved the accommodation. Very tasteful decor. Comfortable night.
Tips:Not a bad walk from the pier, but don't underestimate the seemingly small brae, carrying a rucksack. The view is worth the short climb.
