We loved the secluded, peaceful setting, and direct access to the Trotternish ridge. There's lots of space, and the quality of furniture, linens, soap, kitchenware, etc. is outstanding, and fresh flowers was an extra nice touch. There's a great book collection, including many about the area. Highly recommended!
Tips:There's a great collection of walks, places to eat, etc. compiled in the folder provided.

Lovely spot for one traveller or a couple who like a quiet country lane and a lovely view of fields, cottages and hills. The kind and hospitable host lives adjacent. Great spot to rest - or walks close by too. Only 10 minutes from the outer Hebrides ferry at Uig. We liked shopping at Rankins a small shop that seemed to have everything in Uig, and had a great pub lunch in the sun at The Pier in Uig ( bar beside the ferry terminal on one side and pottery workshop on the other).

This place was, by far, the best we stayed at during our two week holiday in Scotland. Our host was incredibly accommodating, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable (I think I slept better there than I have in months), the location was serene and beautiful…I could go on and on. I hope to stay there again in the future, as it is as idyllic as could be.
Tips:Location is close to Quairaing and the Fairy Glen.

Lovely cottage, tucked out of the way!! Host is lovely and helpful. Would have liked more time to spend at the property which is really quite beautiful. Loved being able to make our own meals at this self-catering cottage, during our month long journey through Scotland.
Tips:It's the Isle of Skye, so the list would be too long to recommend things to see and do. We tried to do it all! We enjoyed staying at this self catering cottage, and made our own meals, and did not eat out.

A lovely cottage in a rural setting. Jeannie, the host, is delightful. Friendly, hospitable and has great tips regarding activities and dining.
Tips:Mobile reception is problematic (we are on Vodafone and had no reception). The cottage is about 12 miles from Portree and 6 from Uig so access to shops, restaurants etc is by car. Skye is a paradise for walkers and Dunvegan castle and gardens are well worth a visit.

This is a lovely cottage in a very idyllic setting. The viewpoints around this cottage are amazing. The Wifi works, but isn’t fast. The bed is very comfortable with a nice duvet. It’s very quiet… You only hear birds and sheep.
Tips:The best walk on Isle of Skye is the Quiraing we think. In Portree you have a lot of restaurants and also a big supermarket.

Although the weather was not kind with us through our three night stay at Jeannie's house, perhaps because of that, since we had to be more time in there because of the heavy rain, we appreciated even more the comfort of her apartment. It is lovely, decorated with taste, and we absolutely felt as home. We fully recommend it but make sure that you book way ahead of time! Jordi & Elena, Barcelona, Catalonia

We had a lovely peaceful break staying at Half of Three. Jeannie was very welcoming and had provided everything we needed in the cottage, with the bedding and towels being of excellent quality. We would only suggest that the instructions for using the cooker is kept by the cooker. The setting was beautiful, if a little remote and the cottage was further from the main road than we expected. However, this was not an issue as we had a car. We would happily recommend Half of Three to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable location to stay.

fantastic stay but a little out of the way. However it is located in the best section of Skye in our opinion. Plenty of room, very clean and well maintained. Quiet.
Tips:You do need a vehicle if wanting to see the best of Skye. Also good walking shoes. I think the traffic in the height of summer would be heavy but in the late spring it was OK.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and scenic location. The cottage was very well appointed and comfortable. It was great to be able to return from a day's walking to sit on the bench on the patio admiring the view with a drink! We hope to return in the future and have the same glorious weather.

We received a very warm welcome from Jeannie and had a lovely, comfortable stay. We had everything we needed in the cottage and it was so perfectly cosy and homely. Our trip to Skye was incredible, and it was made all the more wonderful by having Half of Three to return to at the end of a long day of exploring.
Tips:We headed to the north of the island on our first day in Skye and visited the sweet, little museum and the Flora MacDonald Memorial. The views are breathtaking from here! We then drove a little further to Duntulm Castle. There is a haunting tale attached to the castle, look it up, and go and see it! There is so much to do and see in Skye, but we definitely recommend a walk in the Quiraing and a trek up to the Old Man of Storr as the views from the Trotternish Ridge are second to none. Don't leave without visiting the Fairy Pools, they are magical!
