Friendly welcome, excellent facilities, beautiful location, and a couple of minor suggestions were received very graciously. Good selection of maps and guides available to browse.

Mountains to climb, lots of places to visit, and if going to the Fairy Pools, drive and park thoughtfully. The farmer at Glen Brittle has to get large heavy loads through. AND It is well worth going on down to Glen Brittle beach.

Premium B&B! Exactly what we wanted! Clean, comfortable, spacious, modern, great location, easy parking, the husband and wife that run it are wonderful! 31st August 2023:

after an extremely challenging delay, we arrived 18 hours late to our most gracious and accommodating hosts Ted and Tracey, and their lovely lab Colt! They showed us our rooms then offered to make us a much needed breakfast. This little respite was exactly what we needed to get us back on track. The home was beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds with lovely, fluffy pillows (rare in some parts of the UK), wonderfully hot showers with fabulous toiletries, and fabulous tea and coffee service in our rooms. We had all three rooms, so we had the run of the house. There was a comfortable sitting room between the upstairs bedrooms, so we were able to gather and play board games late in the evening. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer!

We had a delicious dinner at a local spot down the road 1.5 miles, The Old Inn. The Fairy Pools was a 30+ minute challenging drive away. Mind the etiquette of the road by using the passing places to allow oncoming traffic to get by.

A beautiful b&b, our room was large and very comfortable, tee, coffee, Netflix.. you can't ask for more. The owners are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is delicous. Ein wunderschönes b&b, unser Zimmer war sehr groß und es fehlte an nichts, selbst Netflix gibt es. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück ist mega lecker.

Tracey and Ted were wonderful hosts!! Tracey went out of her way to email me weeks before hand with recommendations for eating out so I could make reservations ahead of time which is essential in Skye. The room was spotless and beautiful with a wonderful view of the hilly countryside and loch out our window. Each morning the breakfast was delicious and Tracey would give us recommendations on things to see in the area. We had a wonderful stay!!

The Old Inn down the road is one of the few places to eat that doesn’t take reservations and is a fun crowded atmosphere. We enjoyed a nice quieter meal at the Old School House in Dunvegan and also at Uig Hotel. The food was great at both places.

Tracey and Ted are the most welcoming and helpful hosts you could ask for at a BnB. Our room had an amazing view, the bed was super comfy, and amenities were all top notch. We even had fresh milk in our room fridge! The breakfast was custom made to order each morning and the side buffet had freshly cut mixed fruit for our yogurt. All ingredients were expertly prepared and tasty. If you sit next to the window, colorful little birds come and go for their breakfast just outside. It is a delightful quiet country setting.

Tracey and Ted provided us so many ideas for exploring from their centrally located place. We were so glad we opted to stay out in the countryside. The sounds of the birds and lambs very relaxing. Just a great central base to explore from with a nearby cafe and an amazing “local” pub just a few minutes down the road right on the water. We will be back!

Tracey was so welcoming and Ted always had a beaming smile. They both really couldn’t do enough and were so helpful especially recommending places to eat at. Tracy went above and beyond researching to find lots of different places to eat. Tracy was always very relaxed and extremely happy to chat with us which made us feel ‘at home’ . Tracy is extremely efficient with everything well organised and carries this with an air of calmness. Really couldn’t meet nicer hosts. The breakfasts served by Tracy were delicious. Everything was so well cooked and all the ingredients so fresh with most being sourced locally. Breakfasts were a really lovely leisurely affair. The location of the Lodge is stunning with views over the Loch and mountains in the distance. It was really quiet with lots of birds and nature on your doorstep. We would definitely like to return

The Fairy Pools are a must and a visit to the Quairang is also very special. The Trotternish ridge is a good day out as well. However, whichever road you take when you turn a corner you are treated to a spectacular view. It is truly stunning scenery.

Tracey and Ted were so warm and welcoming. Their easy relaxing attitude shows that they are happy to be the proprietors of the lovely Trien Lodge. The home cooked breakfast was perfect and the fruit salad was the best I have had in a long time. Tranquil location in the valley, will definitely make Trien Lodge our preferred place to stay when we are next in the area.

Cannot praise Trien Lodge enough! We booked Deluxe King Room with lovely views of the mountains and the lake. The room was spacious and lovely with a fantastic super comfy bed. Everything you could think of is provided and it's all first-class quality from a selection of organic tea to fluffy towels and bathrobes. The breakfast was superb and what was very important to me Gluten Free! I felt spoiled for choice and everything was done to our taste. Thank you Tracey and Ted for your hospitality, everything was simply excellent and we loved every minute at the Trien Lodge!

I loved everything at the Isle of Sky we went to see the Neist Point with its stunning views, Dunvegan Castle was lovely and I would recommend taking the trip to seal colony. Loved Coral Beach and we swung by the Portee on the way back.

One of the best B&B's we stayed. You immediately feel home. A huge and wonderful room with everything you need (even Netflix). A well appointed and very comfortable room with plenty of space and everything that we needed. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and provided us with useful local information. A good breakfast with plenty of choice. We were also able to charge our electric car overnight which was very much appreciated.

Watch out for potholes on the local roads and go early for your evening meal if you don’t have a reservation!

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war wirklich besonders! Mit viel Liebe individuell zubereitet. Es gibt auf dem Zimmer sogar eine Nespresso Maschine und einen Wasserkocher, sodass Tee, Kaffee, Kekse jederzeit genossen werden können. Es gibt einen großen Smart Tv und die Betten sind bequem. Uns hat es wirklich an nichts gefehlt und wir können Trien Lodge uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Amazingly friendly and helpful hosts who made us feel very welcome indeed. We loved every moment of our stay. The room was huge and fantastic with lovely views. The breakfasts were delicious and there was a great variety. The location is fantastic, 10 mins from the Cuillans and Sliachan. And very thoughtfully some easter eggs were left for us as our stay was over Easter. Thanks for a really memorable trip ❤️

The Sligachan Hotel is 10.mins away and does great food. The Old Inn I'm Carbost was nice but extremely busy. Talisker tour was well worth doing

Beautiful b&b and very clean. Our room was a great size and the bed was super comfy! Breakfast was tasty and a good portion. Mixture of hot and cold offerings. Hosts are so welcoming and have the friendless dog that you will just want to take home with you. Highly recommend and would be the first place I would contact if I was in the area again.

The old inn pub just down the road from the b&b about 3 minutes in a car. Really nice food and cosy pub.

We had a wonderful time at the Trien Lodge and all 3 of us agreed that we never had a better place to stay at any holiday. Very nice hosts, great breakfast, nice and clean rooms and the house located in a breathtaking beautiful area. Couldn't ask for more. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in der Trien Lodge und waren uns alle Drei einig, dass niemand von uns schon mal eine besser Unterkunft in einem Urlaub hatte. Sehr nette Gastgeber, großartiges Frühstück, schöne und saubere Zimmer und das Haus steht in einer atemberaubend schönen Landschaft. Was will man mehr!?

2nd April 2023:

Stayed at Trien Lodge for a 3 night break. Tracey and Ted were great hosts and they have a fabulous Bed and Breakfast. Great King Size room with every extra you could wish for and a great choice for breakfast. Ted's cooked breakfast was first class with plenty of choice and is highly recommended. Their recommendations on places to visit were spot on with some different ones to that of the more busier locations. Would I stay again or recommend - absolutely !!

The Old Inn and Waterfront for great pub food in Carbost. Fairy Pools and Glen Etive great locations for walkers and photographers as is Talisker Bay where the waves come rolling in like the Guinness Advert. If you like to sample the odd dram or do the whisky tour then a visit to Talisker Distillery should be high on your intinary.

Everything about Trien Lodge was excellent. From the welcome we had from Tracey (and Colt the dog!) when arrived to the moment we left 6 days later. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of shelves and hangers.The view out of the window was beautiful even in the rain. Parking is at the front door. Breakfast was whatever we wanted and Tracey and Ted turned it into an experience. There was plenty of chat with them and the other guests from all over Europe and Australia. Both Ted and Tracey were able to advise on where to go and what to do. We went to the local pub and to the Taigh Aileen restaurant where we ate mackerel caught by Ted in the loch! Then we found that Ted also worked there! Magic! All in all, with Tracey and Ted’s help, we had a wonderful Tim in Skye.

There are many interesting places to visit on Skye for a hike. The Fairy Pools, Oronsay, Quiraing and Rubha Hunish. The Old Inn in Carbost is a good place for dinner.

Tracey & Ted we’re excellent hosts. They both made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing, with lots to choose from. Our room was very equipped, the bed was so comfy and large. The view from the window of the loch and hills was absolutely beautiful and very calming. Tracy & Ted we’re very knowledgeable of the area. They advised us on best place’s to visit as well as places to eat. Could not recommend them enough.

The two hour boat trip from Portree is highly recommended. We were lucky enough to see bottle nose dolphins and sea eagles. The otter hide is also worth a visit to see seals and hopefully otters, unfortunately I didn’t fulfill my dream of seeing any otters but that’s to be expected. We really enjoyed the coastal route from Kilt Rock & Mealt falls taking you to the top of the island and down the other side. The views are amazing! We saw Golden eagles flying above a cliff top and seals swimming in the sea.

We had a wonderful couple of nights at Trien Lodge, serving as our base to explore the north and west side of Skye. Tracey and Ted welcomed us like old friends and made us feel very much at home. Everything was superb. Hosts Tracey and Ted were welcoming and friendly,and knowledgeable about the area.Good options for breakfast,cooked to order,or a selection of cereals. Room and ensuite spotlessly clean with good quality towels,soaps,shampoo etc. Plus decent pillows to sleep on yeah! Kettle,Tea/Coffee/Cookies/Bottled water. Also a selection of materials on things to do. If you plan to go to Skye,try and book the Trien Lodge.

If your accommodation does not provide eve ing food, book restaurants ahead of arrival. Some who do not that do not require booking are. Old School House,Carbost and The Lower Deck,Portree Harbour, you probably will need to queue.

Very friendly and helpful hosts, with a tray of tea and home-made cake brought to us on our arrival. Luxury accommodation with all details addressed. Very comfortable large bed. Coffee making m/c in room provided excellent coffee. Litre of fresh milk in the fridge in the room meant we always had what we needed over our 4 night stay. Beautiful views from our room - including the Cuillins! Excellent breakfasts with lovely fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals and then a good selection of perfectly cooked and very good quality hot food.

Good pub food nearby (very close to the Tallisker Distillery) and an excellent restaurant/pub about 4 miles away along a quiet scenic road. The Cuillins are very close and a nearby side road leads to Glenbrittle and The Fairy Pools (though we took Tracey's advice and walked along a much quieter different stream with many beautiful waterfalls). Portree and Dunvegan Castle are both easy and scenic drives away.

Staying at Trien Lodge is like visiting old friends who give you the warmest welcome and make you as comfortable as you would be at home. Ted and Tracey were wonderful hosts - friendly, helpful and good humoured - they went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely time on Skye. Tracey's local knowledge is excellent - she helped us to find some hidden gems, off the beaten track of other tourists, and to avoid some of the pitfalls of visiting a busy but small island. Ted's cooking was second to none - we were really set up for the day after his hearty breakfast! The accommodation was really clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. I can't recommend Trien Lodge highly enough, and will definitely be back again in the future.

The Old Inn in Carbost serves delicious, fresh but inexpensive meals, and has a lively and friendly atmosphere - well worth a visit. Definitely recommend the Fairy Pools (but be prepared for a long walk over fairly rough ground), and a visit to Staffin beach to see the Megalasaurus footprint in the stone! Good fun fossil hunting for the kids too.

Cafe Cuil is a short walk from Trien Lodge, but only open in the day time. However, the wonderful Old Inn is open 7 days a week in Carbost - we ate there every evening and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the company of staff and customers alike. Ted & Tracey gave us a very warm welcome, the room was a delight and the food delicious! Our hosts went above and beyond what you’d expect, nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely stay again.

See the fairy pools but go early as it gets busy. A trip into town for artisan shops is a must. Quite a few decent restaurants and walks in the area.

From start to finish this place was a very welcomed stay. Even before getting there Tracey went above and beyond to make the stay as easy as possible, she gave actual directions to the property with places to note so we don't get lost, she also gave ideas on where to eat in the evening. A very warm welcome when we arrived, so easy with no hassle, was even give multiple choices for milk (as my partner is intolerant to cows milk). The room was very clean and smelt lovely, the views amazing, lighting was great, nice TV, warm, soft pillows and bed, great flowing shower, really nice attention to detail with amenities and lots of them, such a wonderful great nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order by the Head Chef :) plenty of options from cereals, fruits to a cooked breakfast, truly a great start to the day. Covid wise masks were kept on in the common areas, social distancing was kept even at breakfast. Cannot fault this property nor can I fault any of the three staff members, Colt is lovely! Highly recommended and I would definitely book here again. Thank you!

I am not sure where to start as the whole stay was exceptional. Tracey was in communication with me prior to the stay - she sent on some hints and tips around restaurants which was extremely useful. I asked to check in at 3pm as we had other plans that day, she was happy to oblige and met us at the door before showing us to our room. The room was spacious and incredibly well looked after; we had everything we needed including a fridge! The location is also perfect, its within walking distance to Carbost and is also near to various tourist attractions. Breakfast was also at a time that we wanted rather than during a specific time; the food was excellent and we could choose exactly what we did and didn't want. Both Tracey and Ted really went above and beyond what we expected and I would not hesitate to go back. Its just a shame we couldn't stay for longer.

This is the best B&B I have stayed in. A warm welcome is guaranteed from Tracey and Ted. My room was spacious with views to the Cuillin Ridge at one side and Loch Harport on the other. The king size bed is extremely comfortable with plenty of storage available in a room off and ensuite shower. I will certainly be returning.

The Old Inn in Carbost is nearby for food and drinks. Glen Brittle with the Cuillin Ridge is also at hand. The Talisker distillery is well worth a visit.

Stayed for four nights in July in deluxe king room. Easily the best all round b&b we've stayed in for location, room, breakfast and hosts. It was a memorable stay.

Go to the Fairy Pools early to avoid crowds, take midge spray and swim in higher up pools for clear water. Talisker Bay easy 20minute walk from parking on side of road then follow through track field and beautiful beach for swimming at end. Taigh Ailean amazing food in a casual restaurant. Local foraging, fresh seafood plus varied menu. Booking ahead a must to get a table. By car, travel a few minutes north of Carbost and stop at small local artists studios including On the Croft (owner spins and dyes wool plus other beautiful crafts) and Cath Waters art gallery and studio of Scottish landscapes.

Tracey and Ted could not done any more for us, they were welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous. The bedroom was luxurious with a comfy bed. Tracey advised us of places to visit on Skye which was very helpful.

Really nice meal at the Taigh Ailean. A visit to Dunvegan Castle and Gardens is worth a visit.

Tracey and Ted were fantastic hosts, made us very welcome, when we just arrived they made us a pot of coffee, their was also a fridge in the room with a pint of milk. Good sized room, which was spotless, Ted's breakfast was very good great choice, nothing was a bother, even when Tracey had an accident and ended up with crutches. We would definatey stay their again.

The guest house in nearer the cullin mountains, which is great if that's all you want to do, 4 miles to Glen brittle and the fairy pools, there is a pub in carbost, good food, good base for exploring the island. Mary and Sarah Hughes.

Tracey and Ted were very friendly, polite and welcoming. They provided us with huge amount of information for the local area, including walks, history and a boat trip from Elgol (which was definitely worth doing). Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. We would stay here again.

This was a return visit and we really appreciated efforts made specifically to accommodate our requirements eg my wife cannot take gluten. We plan to visit Skye and stay at the Trien Lodge on a regular basis. In summary, first class in every respect.

“The hosts were very friendly and provide me with a lot of advices and recommendations. It was a warm welcome. The room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was also very good. I recommend the place to visit Skye. Tres belle île.”

Everything is magic on this island. I recommend to stay a little bit longer to enjoy the landscape and the view. Tracey and his husband will give you all the tricks you need to transform a basic visit on a deep personal experience. Regarding the restaurant it is better to chose to eat real Scottish food at the Seuma’s and to enjoy the amazing choice of more than 400 different whisky.

Fantastic stay. Felt totally at home and welcome from the minute of our arrival. Friendliest and most helpful of hosts, large very comfortable room with little thoughtful extras which made all the difference. Great conversations, tips on walks and places to eat. Wonderful views of the Cuillins. Highly recommended.

Great location for getting to all parts of Skye. Good walks almost on the doorstep, Tallisker distillery and restaurants just down the road. Not far from Portree if you need shops, plus a great short walk round the headland there, with lunch in the gardens of Cuillin Hills Hotel recommended.

Trien Lodge is located in an idyllic location and makes a perfect base for exploration of the island. The house is exceptionally clean, comfortable, and inviting as are the hosts. The breakfast was filling, high quality, and cooked to order making it a great start to the day. We definitely would choose to stay at Trien Lodge again. Five star service and accommodations!

Fabulous base for our couple of days in Skye. Tracey gave us good recommendations for spending our days and where to eat locally. Breakfast was 1st class . You will not be disappointed staying here.
