Lots to do and see if you are there in the warmer months. We still climbed the old man of Storr and also hiked the fairy Glen. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind but we still enjoyed our stay. I would recommend going when warmer if you want to do more tourism things as a lot less f tours weren’t open when we were there but we enjoyed it not being crowded 😊

Perfect location, right on the shoreline of Portree. The house is warm and inviting with a modern, cosy feel. The decor is beautiful and the twin room we occupied had everything you could wish for: tea and coffee (including tassimo!), biscuits, fresh milk and water stored in a small fridge, ensuite, great pillows, comfy bed and good quality towels and bedding. Our hosts were lovely! We were welcomed by Andrew in the evening and served breakfast by Mairi in the morning, both made you feel so at home. The breakfast choice is superb and the quality exceptional. Even the choice of music playing in the dining room was top notch! We plan to be back soon!

The room and the bathroom are big, cozy beds. Everything beatifully decorated and clean. The breakfast has a lot of options and everything I have tried was delicious. The staff was very kind.

The view at the port is beautiful, we tried to eat seafood there, but it was closed during the weekend that we stayed at Portree. In fact there was only a few restaurants opened in that weekend.

Great Inn, very centrally located. You can walk to town in 5 minutes. Quiet room, all necessities provided. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit hard but the owner was helpful in getting us a space.

We went to The Merchant for a quiet drink, the Batman was really nice and friendly. We ate dinner at the restaurant next door Dukes and Brose. Food was delicious.

Mairi & Andrew made us feel as though we were family, providing us with a lovely accommodations with an amazing view of Portree harbor. They personally guided our explorations of Skye and provided not only lovely breakfasts, but a world-class dinner prepared by Andrew. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Parking can be a challenge so be prepared to walk a bit to and from your vehicle occasionally. However Portree is a charming town with lots of amenities and the walks are within 5 minutes. This B&B also does everything it can to promote sustainability, which we loved, so arrange meals ahead of time to minimize waste.

Meticulous attention to detail; excellent breakfast and dinner - using freshly caught local fish, prepared by trained chefs. Friendly welcome and service throughout.

For lunch, Cafe Arriba highly recommended; for a dinner alternative: Prince of India, hidden below the carpark. Tour Skye provides a comprehensive introduction to the northern half of the island and is definitely recommended.

Die Unterkunft liegt zentral im hübschen kleinen Ort Portree. Uns wurde von den Gastgebern ein Abendessen angeboten, das hervorragend geschmeckt und uns nach längerer Wanderung und Fahrt höchst willkommen war. Der Empfang im Haus war ausgesprochen herzlich und freundlich. Es hat uns wirklich gut gefallen. Sehr aufmerksam war auch das Gläschen Whisky als Willkommensgruß.

Stroll around Portree, and have a meal at Cuchullin Restaurant - Somerled Sq (if you haven’t booked previously, be prepared to maybe wait. But it’s worth it. Try to make the northern part of the Island by car, with many wonderful views along the way.

Owner/operator Andrew and Marie were just fabulous hosts. The little personal touches they provide make a stay in Portree one our favorites. Having that wee tipple with Andrew in the evening made for such a memorable stay.

Book early to avoid disappointment. If you arrive on a Sunday late afternoon you may find like we did that most places stop food service by 3 pm. We still did find a hotel that was serving food and had a wonderful venison stew.

Rockview is the most beautiful and cozy B&B I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. My room overlooked Portree harbor and the view was breathtaking. Better yet were my hosts...Mairi and Andrew. As trained chefs in the hospitality industry for years I was lucky enough to have 2 incredible dinners in addition to the phenomenal breakfasts. Made to order with the catch of the day! Mairi is a wonderful and warm host, plus her sweet little dog Calli was available to guests for cuddling and kisses.

Rockview's location is right in Portree and it is a quick walk to get to restaurants, the local co-op and shopping.

We loved our stay at Rockview! The room was spacious, the bathroom had shelf space for toiletries under the window, the bed was comfortable, the view was amazing, and the breakfast was the best!

Definitely make advance reservations for dinners; if not, go to Pizzaway and eat outside on their picnic tables. Enjoyed our trip around the Trotternish Peninsula, but take a lunch (we got ours from the grocery Co-Op). Also loved our tour of Dunvegan Castle and gardens.

Very quaint but unique and lovely accommodations. Mary was the most gracious hostess and we also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the other guests in the common room. The dinner she prepared would easily surpass many fine dining establishments. Simply put, our meals were amazing! As it is extremely difficult to get into any restaurant in Portree, I highly recommend eating dinner here. It’s a very brief walk to the quay for pictures as well.

Parking is difficult if you don’t get there at the right time.

Ambos caseros fueron excepcionalmente amables. El emplazamiento es bastante más céntrico de lo que parecía en el mapa (en 5 mins a pie estás en la plaza del centro). Las vistas desde la habitación son buenas, puesto que dan directamente a la bahía. El desayuno fue excelente, sobre todo tratándose de un establecimiento tan pequeño, y tuvimos ocasión de ver el amancecer desde la ventana del comedor.

Stayed for two nights on our tour so only sampled two restaurants. The first was The Portree Hotel Antlers Bar and Grill - I would not recommend as service poor, the meal I ordered was not nice and some of staff rude. Night two was Dulse and Brose - well what a find (recommended by our host). Service and food was amazing

We stayed one night at Rockview. It is such a cute place where a lot of thought has gone into making it cosy and comfortable. The bed was ultra comfortable and we had a superb fried breakfast. The owners are very nice and we wish we had stayed longer. Definitely recommend highly!! Thank you Rockview!!

Mairi and Andrew are welcoming hosts, concerned for your comfort and enjoyment of the spectacular Isle of Skye. Rockview's location provides an awesome view of the mouth of Portree Harbor, and you can walk everywhere in town. Mairi's suggestion for dinner was so good we ate there the following night.

Dulse and Brose Restaurant (right up the street from Rockview). Trotternish Peninsula. Dunvegin Castle.

Lovely welcome from beginning to end. Beautiful views of the harbor and perfect location for walking to the quaint town of Portree. Mairi and Andrew were pleasant and very helpful about the area. The breakfast was delicious and accommodations were quiet and private. A very sweet Bed and Breakfast.We would love to visit again.

We had 2 nice dinners at the Bosville Inn a few minute walk to town. Good food, drink and service as well as a local vibe. Renting E bikes, but 1 hour bus ride to get them.Not a problem since transportation is reliable

Lovely room, lovely views. Very friendly and helpful host. Welcome dram was a great touch. Breakfast delicious and a benefit that full breakfast could be served with enough time to then get an early ferry. Only slight downside was the pressure on very local parking. Managed to park in town car park overnight. This was outweighed by proximity to harbour side and local restaurants in walking distance. Would definitely stay again (and for more than just one night) Thank You

Really a nice place, nice view from the room. Also breakfast was very good, with a wide choise in a wonderful room. Much appriciated the whisky welcome, but i have a suggestion: put it into the room, because some not polite guests can drink all the bottle ignoring their neighbors.
