9th October 2022:
Nous sommes venus passer 15 jours dans ce cottage, en famille et avec des amis. Ce lieu est magique. La vue est magnifique et le cottage très cosy et très bien décoré. Dans chaque piece (en dehors de la cuisine et des salles d'eau), la mer nous fait face. A notre droite, une langue de terre au relief torturé : le brother's point. Un endroit calme et paisible, à apprécier jour et nuit. Nos voisins : les ewes. Taigh Rob est situé sur la péninsule de Trotternish, pas très loin de Portree et des plus beaux endroits de l'île de Skye, ce qui est un atout précieux. Parfois il semble qu'un site n'est pas très loin en miles mais il s'avère que l'on met pas mal de temps pour le rejoindre car les routes de Skye ne sont pas nombreuses et restent étroites la plupart du temps. Taigh Rob est un de ces endroits que l'on n'oublie jamais. Nous l'avons quitté à regret en nous faisant la promesse de revenir un jour.
Tips:Sur la péninsule de Trotternish : Staffin Bay, Kilt rock, the Old Man, the Quiraing, the Fairy Glen, Kilmuir, Brother's point. Portree à portée. Dunvegan, Nest Point, les Fairy pools, les Cullins....

Best location with an amazing view. Accommodation kitted out to a very high standard, very tasteful. Beds were extremely comfortable. Located near all the east coast tourist sites. Would definitely stay again. The host was very helpful. Best accommodation we’ve stayed at.
Tips:There were lots of local things to do including visiting the island ‘capital’ of Portree for shops, boat trips and fish & chips. The house is 2 mins from Brothers Point, which is lovely, 10 mins from the old man of storr and kilt rock, 15 mins from An Curran beach (dinosaur footprint), 30 mins from Skye life museum and ferry to Raasay, along with Quiraing & Fairy Glen. Further afield (about an hour or so) you have Fairy Pools, Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point & Coral Beach. We did not do all of these but did most of them, it was a very busy week.

Fantastic location with views across the sea to Torridon mountains, and ideal to explore the north of Skye. We saw dolphins and a golden eagle from the house. The house is lovely and was ideal for our family party of 6 adults and a baby - plenty of room to sit in the living room and dining room, and 2 bathrooms with showers. It's attractively furnished, practical and very comfortable. We appreciated the welcome gifts when we arrived - thankyou.
Tips:There's a large Co-op on the Dunvegan Road in Portree and a small general store in Staffin. The takeaways in Staffin were closed when we tried them, but there's an excellent cafe/restaurant in Staffin called Columba 1400 which is open till 8pm, and plenty of choice in Portree. Our highlights were: dinosaur footprints at Brothers Point and Duntulm, nearby dino museum, Duntulm Castle, lighthouse at Neist Point, Quiraing, Old Man of Storr and boat trip from Portree (3 sea eagles! and seals).

Beautifully appointed house, exactly as seen in the photographs. Very comfortable and clean while still retaining a homely feel. Beds very comfortable and lots of the essentials that you would hope for in a self catering setting. Would recommend without any hesitation at all. The views however are spectacular, just amazing to simply sit and look.
Tips:We have been to Skye several times and this is in one of the best locations. So much is right on your doorstep. There are lots of well known walks from the Old Man to the Quaraing within an easy ten minutes drive however there are other less well know walks close by. Try going down to Brothers Point or the walk at the end of Flodigarry which also leads up the Quaraing ,you can just meander along it, it is stunning. Last tip would also be to get outside into the garden at night, the stars are incredible.

We had a wonderful stay at Taigh Rob, the location is just as peaceful as we needed and the view was amazing. The house is luxurious and well equipped. Alec was really helpful before the stay.
Tips:We really enjoyed the walk up the Quiraing and also the ferry from Elgol to Loch Coruisk.

Taig Rob self-catering is an amazing place to spend your holiday. As seen from the photographs, it has some breathtaking and calming views from the house that simply doesn't do justice with a few words. The house itself was excellent where we found all the facilities that we need for a family for a comfortable stay. We found the house is exceptionally clean and tidy when we arrive, and the interior was very colourful and certainly creates a warm and lovely atmosphere inside the house. All the rooms offer a seaside view and therefore, you can wake up to lovely scenery in the morning. There is a lovely wooden table and bunk in front of the house where you can enjoy a lovely picnic lunch overlooking the views!!! Also, you could walk up to the edge of the cliff through the sheep fields to get a panoramic view of the landscape as well as the house. Overall, we had a lovely week at this house. We wish if we had another week there!!!
Tips:Attractions such as Brothers Point, Kilt rock falls, lealt falls viewpoint is a few minutes' drive away and highly recommended attractions to visit.

First class accommodation on every level. Location, road access, safety. The cottage itself is maintained and furnished to a superior standard- by far the best we have ever experienced on Skye, and we have been coming for many years. The cottage has a long family heritage and it was a privilege to experience it.
Tips:Midges weren't too bad this time round, but always bring your spray and your walking shoes. Great walk from cottage into Staffin Bay and around Brother's Point - great for a picnics. Coral Beach also worth a visit and a boat trip from Elgol. The Uig pottery factory also worth a visit.
