Shirley was a lovely host to us during our nights there. She kindly gave us tips of distilleries to visit and also sightseeing points. We would love to come back one day to stay with them
Tips:There is a restaurant close at the Uig hotel, it is just 3 minutes driving distance and is very convinient and definitely make a reservation in advance. There is a little supermarket nearby the B&B.

Great location as we travelled from Tarbert at the end of a holiday on the Isle of Harris before beginning our journey home. Warm and comfortable room. Good choices for breakfast which we enjoyed.
Tips:Just a quick overnight stay so cannot really comment other than that you really need your own transport and somewhere for an evening meal.

We arrived late onto the island and our nights accomodation due to weather, but were welcomed very warmly by our host. We were there for only the one night to do some hiking the next morning, and our host was more than accomodating. She was so kind as to allow us to leave our belongings in the room after checkout and to take a quick shower after our muddy hike. I would hands down reccomend to anyone planning to stay in Uig. The room was very clean and breakfast was delicious in the morning. 5 out of 5 stars.

We had a very warm welcome by Shirley. She asked if we already have booked dinner for the evening and immediately called a nearby hotel to book a table, as we did not book dinner ourselves. The room and bath was very nice and the breakfast was awesome. Not to forget the self made shortbread. Yummy! We stayed for three days and Shirleys B&B was a perfect base for our trips around Skye. If we - hopefully - return to Skye in the future, we definitely want to stay here again.
Tips:We had dinner two times in the Uig hotel, which is nearby. The food was great and the prices were decent, too. Booking for dinner in advance is recommended!

We had a drink at the Uig Hotel and dinner at a fantastic pub about 25mins away (Edinbane Inn). 5 Glenconon B&B is easiest to get to with a car and the scenery on both the Trotternish Coast and around Dunvegan was amazing but needed a car.

We loved staying here! The place was very clean and cozy. Parking was easy and the location was close to some amazing places. The host, Shirley, was extremely kind and accommodating, even making us food to take on the road when we were heading out super early each morning. We’ll definitely be coming back to stay at Glenconon B&B!!
Tips:This place is super close to Fairy Glen and lots of other stunning places in Skye. We went to The Quiraing, the ruins of Dunscaith castle, and Ord Beach, to name a few. We also had dinner at the Uig Hotel which was lovely.

5 Glenconon was the perfect place to stay in Uig. Very warm and welcoming. We had just arrived from a long cycle in the rain, and they immediately offered to help dry clothes and warm us up. Beds were very comfy, great night sleep, and a brilliant continental breakfast waiting for us in the morning. Thank you!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at 5 Glenconon. The hosts were helpful, pleasant and friendly with a wealth of local knowledge. The accommodation was of a high standard and the room had every facility you could require including a heater,TV and hairdryer as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. The house is in a most picturesque location overlooking Uig Bay. Photographs and artwork on display showcased the beautiful local scenery and as an avid reader it was great to see a bookcase with an extensive selection of reading materials for guests. Breakfast options were wide ranging with provision made for different preferences.
Tips:5 Glenconon is very close to the world famous Fairy Glen and Quiraing. Other sites of significance such as the Storr Rock, the Fairy Pools and An Corran beach (of dinosaur footprint fame)are also within a fairly short drive. There is a small general store within walking distance and Uig also has a range of pubs and restaurants. For those wishing to explore a little further afield, Portree, the main town on Skye is about a 20 minute drive away. 5 Glenconon also provides an ideally situated stopover for anyone catching a ferry from Uig to the Outer Hebrides.

We would like to thank Shirley and Niel for being excellent hosts. Their beautiful B&B is fully renovated and lacks no comfort. The beds were great, everything super clean and the breakfast delicious. The B&B is in a beautiful location, 20 min from Portree, only a few short minutes drive from the magical Fairy Glen, Kilt Rock and other amazing Isle of Skye landmarks. We truly enjoyed our stay, met their lovely dog, a true herding sheepdog in retirement, enjoyed watching the grazing cows a cross the road, as well as little bunnies and wild birds in the front yard. We would definitely stay again in this peaceful location.

Shirley and Neil were extremely welcoming and their B&B is in a beautiful, secluded location just off the main road in Uig and is ideal for travellers heading for a morning ferry. Our room with en suite was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and Shirley provided a feast of a breakfast in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’ll definitely be returning in the future. Overall we can’t recommend 5 Glenconan highly enough!
Tips:Our sat nav had located 5 Glenconon as much further up the road than it really is. It’s actually the first house that you reach after you take the turning off the main road but is very well signposted so we didn’t miss it. The Uig Hotel restaurant is wonderful for an evening meal and is only 10 minute walk from the B&B, but be sure to book in advance. The Fairy Glen is also within walking distance and is well worth a visit to wander through its dramatic landscape. Room was very clean and had everything we needed for the night: comfortable beds, quite location and the host was very friendly and helpful. If you inform the host about your dietary requirements Shirley (the host) will prepare it for you as you wish. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend it!
Tips:This property is located in a close distance from Fairly Glen which was perfect for our stay as we got up early in the morning and managed to have the place for ourselves.

Great place! Tucked away up on the hillside overlooking the port. Very tranquil hotel with very friendly owners. Easily accessible to local amenities and close to the ferry port. I would recommend this to anyone Many thanks

Very much enjoyed our stay - and excellent service including tracking us down on the quay to pass on something we had left behind. Just sorry it needed a 2nd trip for you to get key back. Baked treats in the room on arrival excellent - home baked croissants were also a real treat! Very much enjoyed the views, the local tips about what to see and the chat about Melbourne!
Tips:Recommend Fairy Glenn and the drive up the hill. Uig Hotel good for an evening meal with excellent views from tables outside. Good place to catch ferry from!

Spotless property, room was very comfortable, with distant views of the sea. There was a very warm welcome, and would definitely recommend a stay here - particularly for access to the ferry to Harris.

Very cosy and comfortable accommodation, was just what we needed after a wet and windy day on the Uists. Shirley is a very friendly and attentive and top marks for her husband's breakfast porridge! 😊
Tips:The house is ideally placed for journeys to Harris and North Uist or onward trips through Skye and the mainland.

Very quiet peaceful & beautiful location where we were made to feel very welcome. Loved the special touches like the well stocked welcome tea tray & bag of goodies. Beds were extremely comfortable & the bed linen & towels high quality. Breakfast was excellent & personal preferences catered for. Beautiful accommodation & would love to visit again.
Tips:Very close to the ferry to Uist. Excellent for touring the north of Skye.
