Absolutely beautiful B&B with every comfort. Very quiet location but easy for travelling. Shirley and Neil are brilliant hosts and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was a lovely continental selection with hot rolls and porridge if you require. The only downside was leaving! Thank you both for making us so welcome and comfortable, hope to visit again.

I really enjoyed my stay. The house is so clean, fresh and comfortable and in a peaceful, pretty location. And Shirley is a great host, very friendly and helpful. I would recommend.

It's just a 10-minute walk down to the lovely Ferry Inn for a pint and a 10-minute drive up to The Galley for reasonably priced lobster, chips and salad.

Our Room and Bathroom were so clean we were very comfortable staying there. We were in the double room upstairs and had lovely views. The bed was a wee hard for me but other then that everything was great. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed overnight at Glenconon as we were catching the ferry to Harris next day. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and everything was provided for. Shirley was a wonderful host and so kind. The little complimentary homemade shortbreads left on the welcome tray were amazing. Shirley even gave us a couple for our journey on the boat. We would definitely recommend this homely b an b.

Shirley was exceptionally helpful, warning us well before we arrived on a Sunday evening that we would have to prebook at the local restaurant if we wished an evening meal and also keeping us advised of any change of departure time with Cal-Mac ferries. The breakfast was excellent.

There isn't a lot to do in Uig, a few shops petrol station. there is a grocery store called Rankin on the main road, a pub which wasn't open when I visited had a meal at a restaurant by the the pier food was very good though limited choice. There is a super pottery shop and distillery

There are a lot of hiking to be done. Even with public transfer it is possible to see all places. Stay a night on Harris, go there by the ferry from Uig.

A recently renovated house in a quiet location up a steep road from Uig but within walking distance of the ferry and the village. Everything is immaculate and new. The host Shirley goes out of her way to help and is very professional. Can recommend the porridge and bacon rolls for breakfast ( order the night before).

Near the Calmac ferry terminal, the excellent Rankin’s general store and the Uig Hotel.

Very warm welcome upon arrival from hosts. The heating within the rooms was turned on before our arrival. Had a very pleasant sleep.

The local petrol station has a cafe next to its store that does excellent fish and chips. Be aware that the cafe does close by 6pm.

We were made very welcome and when we discovered all the local restaurants were fully booked for dinner, Shirley laid a table in the dining room for us, so we could eat a takeaway and even made us a lovely pot of tea! The rooms were immaculate with very comfy beds and lovely views. Porridge cooked to order for breakfast and fresh fruit, croissants and toast.

Book restaurants ahead of your visit and would recommend the Galley for seafood. We could only get a takeaway, as they were fully booked and we could see why they were popular.

Very friendly welcome. Loverly clean room with good en- suite bathroom, with a shower cubicle large enough for a larger framed man to use. Breakfast set in up for a long day.

Drive up the road a little further to get a good view over Uig.

My stay was great! Shirley could not have been more accommodating and even let a friend, who was camping, join me for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. I stayed in the single room overlooking the garden which was lovely. The room and my private (separate) bathroom were spotless and everything looked brand new. I would definitely recommend a stay if you are in the area.

Visit the Skye brewery near the ferry terminal. However, there are no seats, it is really just a shop. Yer Ben is particularly good.

While note many things are open or around in the actual village, the hebridean Shack is amazing and convenient!

Lovely place 3 minutes from the Uig ferry so convenient for travelling on or back from other islands. Convenient for exploring Skye too. The manager was very welcoming and helpful too. Great croissants!

Locally, there are a number of studios and galleries to visit. It is close to the fairy glen and convenient for visiting Dunvegan Castle. We had dinner at the Seafood Gallery, 5 minutes drive from the B&B which was excellent.

Shirley Shaw is an excellent Manager and host of the Bed & Breakfast. The property is kept to an extremely high standard and the bedrooms are very comfortable. We would be happy to recommend 5 Glenconon.

The Uig hotel nearby serve super food and there is a local grocer shop which is very well stocked with an adjoining post office. The Uig Pottery centre is lovely and Portree is well worth a visit for quaint shops and restaurants.

Shirley and Neil were extremely welcoming and their B&B is in a beautiful, secluded location just off the main road in Uig and is ideal for travellers heading for a morning ferry. Our room with en suite was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and Shirley provided a feast of a breakfast in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’ll definitely be returning in the future. Overall we can’t recommend 5 Glenconan highly enough!

Our sat nav had located 5 Glenconon as much further up the road than it really is. It’s actually the first house that you reach after you take the turning off the main road but is very well signposted so we didn’t miss it. The Uig Hotel restaurant is wonderful for an evening meal and is only 10 minute walk from the B&B, but be sure to book in advance. The Fairy Glen is also within walking distance and is well worth a visit to wander through its dramatic landscape. If you have more time and fancy venturing further, take the road up to Staffin and enjoy the views over to Harris and North Uist.

Shirley made us very welcome on our arrival. The room was beautiful, an excellent 'welcome tray' was much appreciated and the bed comfortable. We had to make a very early start the next day, so I cannot comment on the 'regular' breafast here, but Shirley very kindly made us up a good takeaway breakfast to eat on the ferry. We look forward to returning sometime, when we can linger longer and enjoy the delights of this great B&B (one of the best we have experienced) and its surroundings.

Shirley recommended the Uig Hotel for dinner that night, and even booked a table for us - it was a good recommendation!

Very much enjoyed our stay - and excellent service including tracking us down on the quay to pass on something we had left behind. Just sorry it needed a 2nd trip for you to get key back. Baked treats in the room on arrival excellent - home baked croissants were also a real treat! Very much enjoyed the views, the local tips about what to see and the chat about Melbourne!
