Katrina and David are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Wonderful accommodation. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfasts fantastic. Best porridge I've ever had. We wanted to see hairy coos and I'm sure Katrina and David arranged for them to be on the side of the road as we left their property one morning. :) Wished we could have stayed longer and hope to visit again.

Recommend the Old Inn in Carbost and Edinbane Inn for meals. Dunvegan Castle and gardens and Fairy pools.

Katrina and David are the perfect hosts: very kind and thoughtful without ever being intrusive, David also came to warn us that there could have been the Northern Lights and we were able to witness one of the most exciting shows that exist... we would never be there again wanted to leave!

We loved the cabin and the whole area. It's roomier than it looks inside, and feels mostly brand new. The networking/internet access was flakey, but the hosts did their best to get things up and running - enough for us to plan our routes etc.

Staying at Foxwood on Skye was one of our favourite places during our 5 week holiday. The rooms are nicely set up, comfortable seating area for guests, great breakfast with a view of a very active bird feeder just outside the window and David and Katrina are excellent hosts. For me the location was wonderful - so peaceful and was able to have long evening walks to the peninsula.

Do be sure to read the information about restaurants that they will send you - reservations or eating at not as busy times are needed.

We loved our stay! Thanks for your hospitality! The spacious room was great, breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed learning about local culture from you and getting to see so much local art in the common area.

Talisker Distillery, the Fairy Pools, and Dunvegan are all fairly close. Dunvegan Castle is worth a visit and the Coral Beach is just a few minutes down the road -- a short walk from the car park brings you to some amazing views and incredibly clear water!

We rented the ensuite log cabin for 4 days and found it very comfortable and warm. It was good to have the flexibility of eating out or having microwaved meals and a small fridge to keep a small bottle of milk for breakfast and fresh items for lunch. Parking was very convenient- right outside the front door of the cabin . The hosts, David and Katrina, were friendly, helpful and readily available in the adjacent detached house to address any questions.

Make reservations for nearby Dunvegan, host suggested to us but we forgot and they were right!! This is a bit off the beaten path though also within a half hour of anything you want to do. You need to be that kind of traveler but honestly, I so much prefer this. So unique and beautiful we had a fire and drank some local scotch by the fire, a gorgeous sunset views over the mountains. Take the roads slow!! Thank you to our hosts!!!! You all are wonderful!!

David and Katrina are a wonderful couple to stay with. They made us welcome and feel at home. We got to feed the mare with horse treats, and watch the wild bunnies and domesticated sheep. The farm is gorgeous, and it resides very close to the sea, so you see rugged scenery when you wake up. The rooms are large, warm, excellent beds. The food delicious and plenty, and again, David and Katrina were there to help and advise, and are very customer oriented. Foxwood was the best place we stayed in, in our 8day Scotland tour.

Skye needs to be taken slowly, don't plan to visit too many places, because the drive between them takes a long time. It is more about being than about doing. The roads to Foxwood are very broken down, so drive carefully. Don't expect to see otters in the otter hideout.

Great to share your enthusiasm for wildlife and curiosity about most everything :) Our room and the shared 'feasting hall' were both lovely places to relax and we really enjoyed the art. Breakfast was great and we weren't kept waiting for a second, which was both welcome and impressive! Given the popularity, distance, and closing days of the local eateries, it was really good (if not essential) to be able to cook our own supper. But it felt a bid rude to leave dirty plates on the table for you to wash up. Also, we weren't sure about leaving used food packaging in the bedroom waste bin. Good to make it clear what arrangement is best/OK for you. The bottle of tap water was helpful - would have been nice to have this refilled each day. Ditto, the pack of biccies! (but understand you may have been wanting not to encroach on our privacy.) Overall a really lovely stay.

If you're walking to Oronsay, keep left! It's not clear that the path runs along the leftmost steep edge of the hill as you approach the island - but knowing that will save you a boot full of boggy water! The local Broch was fascinating and gave good views. The fairy pools are busy but benefit from a really good, clear, stone chip path. Expect to pay a fiver or more for the 'main attraction' car parks. Some minor roads (like to Glenbrittle) are actually in better condition than some main roads - don't be put off!

The location isn't that close to Portree for dinner service - maybe half an hour away? Loved going to the Fairy Pools. Did loads of hiking, took a boat ride on Misty Isle and a hike around a lake. Lots of monuments/churches/castle to visit.

Location suited us perfectly as we wanted quiet, easy routes to get out and about. Breakfast was great and kept us going all day rooms were spacious, well equipped and comfy beds. Views were fabulous. Hosts were friendly and welcoming with great service.

Fairy pools a nice walk. Portree busy, restaurants recommended to book, take awaybfish and chips on the slip way very good. Taste of India not so great. Old man of Storr another good walk. Beautiful drive round the island.

This is a perfect BnB experience that checks all the boxes. The accommodations were clean, spacious and comfortable, the location was serene and convenient for exploring Skye and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Most importantly, Katrina (we didn't meet Dave) clearly takes a lot of pride in what she does and her friendly demeanor ensures that her guests feel welcome. We can't recommend the Foxwood enough and would happily return.

This was absolutely the best experience I've had on vacation. The location is excellent, quiet and scenic but central to everywhere on Skye - you get to eat breakfast every morning looking out onto the rolling hills and you can see the water from the front door. Katrina and David were exceptionally kind hosts and amazing cooks. In particular, the scones and the mushrooms are a must.

Definitely ask about tidal times so you can do the hike out to Oronsay Island. Dunvegan is a very easy trip to check out the castle and then you can go to The Misty for pizza. Be careful to make a booking for food since many places were full and doing limited seating.

We experienced amazing hospitality from David and Katrina. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were superb, with the best scrambled egg I have ever tasted! They helped us decide on the best places to visit and where to eat. Their very spacious living area is a wonderful place to relax.

We can recommend The Old School restaurant in Dunvegan and also the takeaway fish and chips served from a van in Struan at the weekends. The Old Inn at Carbost is also good for food and has a very nice atmosphere. We would also recommend the boat trip you can take from Elgol to visit Loch Coruisk. If you are lucky, like we were, you will have dolphins swimming alongside the boat!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Foxwood. David and Katrina are the most wonderful hosts, and cook the tastiest breakfasts! (We recommend the pancakes). The B&B is very rural, so you definitely need a car and should be comfortable driving single track roads. Nearest shop/restaurant is a 15-20 minute drive to Dunvegan. We were out exploring every day, and found Foxwood the perfect place to come back and relax after a busy day!

Location was perfect for getting off the grid and having a base for exploring Skye. The hut itself was lovely, a really unique experience, with all facilities to have a night in or to make a breakfast before you go off for the day. Very well priced compared to many places we saw and the hosts were so welcoming - comprehensive recommendations were sent prior to arrival to help us plan.

The old school house did great takeaway food for dinner. Hike up Quiraing was definitely worth a mention for a slightly longer afternoon, but if you want a shorter walk The Fairy pools are worth a trip.

We loved our stay in the little Scandi Hut at Foxwood! It is the perfect staycation and looks great for photos too. Can not fault the cabin at all, it was very clean and had everything in it you needed. The location we felt was perfect for exploring Skye as you never were coming back on yourself. It does work well with self check in and self check out. I would defo recommend staying here!! We will be back.

Everything as perfect for me and my Partner, Anna. We had a great time at Foxwood and have already recommended it to friends and family who plan on visiting Skye. The location is a so stunning with views of The Cuillin visible throughout the day. It’s perfect for a chilled get away which was exactly what we are after and we will be back to visit again!

The Crofters Bite in nearby Struan is an absolute must if you’re travelling when is opened, this was a great suggestion by our hosts and we ate there on the Saturday on our time away and it hit the spot! Portree isn’t to far away and they have more pubs and restaurants if that’s what you’re after, we never made it to the restaurant in Dunvegan but we will next time we are back!

The nearby Ullinish Lodge's gourmet dinner was over-the-top and failed to justify the expense. The Old School restaurant was excellent. The mobile cooking van in nearby Struan was superb, great value and run by two lovely local ladies.

An excellent Bed and Breakfast that exceeded our expectations. A wonderfully warm welcome. Rooms had everything we needed and were spotlessly clean. The bathroom even had a spa bath and sauna! David and Katrina have a wealth of knowledge about the area and gave us excellet tips on local things to do and see. The location is stunning, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. Our only regret is that we didn't book for longer!

Strongly advise checking in during the daylight hours as it would be difficult to find in the dark. Ask David for tips on local things to do. He told us about some great walks away from the main tourist spots as well as a beaut local pub.

Great, comfortable cabin at the crossroads of Skye. Very convenient and a wonderful home base for exploring the island.

We hiked the Fairy Pools and went up to the Neist Point Lighthouse. Also visited the Storr. Talisker distillery is right across the loch. Dunvegan Castle just up the road. Food: Ullinish Country Lodge was amazing and within walking distance of Foxwood. Making reservations the day before is highly recommended - it takes but a moment.

We had a lovely stay at Foxwood on Skye, the rooms were very cosy and comfortable, all the facilities you could need, breakfasts were excellent - good choice and very good quality food. The hosts were lovely, very welcoming and informative on the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice food at the Old School in Dunvegan although best to book in advance, also The Edinbane Inn does nice bar food with live music on a Sunday afternoon.

A very comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Located near a sea loch on the west coast of sky, about ten miles from the village of Dunvegan. Very good breakfast. Could bring food in for evening dinner.

Good restaurants in Dunvegan about ten miles away. But there was a takeaway chippy on a trailer that is open Thur/Fri/Sat. Nice hikes in area. Lovely Niest Point and its lighthouse about another ten miles beyond Dunvegan. Dunvegan castle should be visited. Portree about thirty minutes across island.

The whole island is amazing. 2 days is a minimum stay. We lucked out in Portree and didn't need reservation for dinner but you should plan to do so.

The room: Our 2-bedroom suite with a large bathroom was just perfect for parents and a teen, and made it easy for us to deal with muddy hiking gear each day. The hosts: At some bed and breakfasts, you feel like family the moment you step in the door - this was one. The Foxwood hosts helped with our luggage, checked to see if we needed an itinerary, helped us watch the weather, loaned us drying racks for damp clothes, made hiking suggestions, cooked delicious food, and even bought me almond milk.

Hiking the Old Man of Storr trail was a highlight, but try not to do it in steady rain - seriously slippery! The Old Schoolhouse restaurant had great food and let us eat promptly at 6 so we could head out to Neist Point for the sunset. Relish deli in Portree has good sandwiches for pickup - so you'll have lunch wherever you are, on the trail or on the road.

Really cosy Cabin in a beautiful landscape. Ullinish is perfect for discover Skye. Katrina and David were really great. Perfect holydays. Thanks a lot.

Go to Skye by Ferry from Glenelg, where you can see seals and dolphins. Visit Kyleakin with Castle Moil. Then pass Sligachan Valley. Really beautiful with great mountains and a strong river with a nice bridge. Tallisker bay with waterfall by sunset, nothing can top it (Website of Skye WALKS). Go to the little Island in Ullinish but take care about the tide. Visit Fairy Pools in the evening and take a bath there, it will be great, and then walk along the mountains on the left side back to the carpark. Visit Dunvegan Castle with boat trip to the seals and then go to Coral beach, Fairy Glen and Bridge. Really great is a walk from Quiaraing car park along the mountains and back to the carpark over the mountains. Best is to use hikingsandals. It is wet on the top. Rubha Hunish is a nice walk and have a look to Duntulm Castle, return by northern top of Skye, perhaps the museum is open. For this tour you can use the carpark at the red telefone cell. Go to Kilt Rock Fall and Old Man of Storr, but go forward the viewpoints. Make a round trip over the mountains it gives you a fantastic view from above. Visit the museum and the castle of Armadale. Nearby at the Torabhaig Destillery is a Castle Ruin. The way to get there is really an adventure. Sorry, but we had only 5 days on Skye and we'll surely come back dir discover the Cullins. Unfortunatly they were every day in clouds. But next time, I'm sure, it will be nice weather there.

Lovely stay here. Very organized hosts and great facilities and breakfast. Really appreciated the email ahead of time suggesting restaurant bookings and things to do. They were very helpful with local suggestions and had lots of information about Skye and books/pamphlets/maps that helped a lot. Loved staying here :)

We ate at Edinbane and Scorrybreac. Both very very good (but a little on the pricey side, but how often are we there to indulge right?) We saw all the cool things on our lists, fairy glen, old man of store, fairy pools, Talisker distillery to name a few. Definitely would recommend those! Hiking was great too

Lovely cabin all to ourself, fully equipped, plush bath towels, extra blankets, in floor heating, fan, included all the makings for coffee and tea, refrigerator is small, missing hairdryer. Our host was thoughtful and provided repellent for midges, a container of milk for coffee when we arrived. Quiet area with limited restaurants. A detailed list of restaurants/grocery stores was sent via email prior to our arrival. Excellent communication and info via email prior to our stay. Loved this little corner of the world and our stay.

Alors là, exceptionnel. Nous étions trois et avions chacun une superbe chambre. Une avec un grand lit, une télé et l'autre avec un petit lit avec chacune : lavabo, bouteille d'eau, beaux meubles, thé, café, gateaux, boulloire et une salle de bain privatisé pour nous trois. B & B d'une propreté irréprochable, tenu par un couple très serviable, d'une grande amabilité. Choix du petit déjeuner (dès notre arrivée) avec beaucoup de variétes dans les mets à choisir : haricots, saucisses, boudin, oeufs de différentes cuissons, bacon, pancake, pain grillé, etc... Je le recommande

Au calme au milieu des prés et des moutons. Proche de Talisker, des Fairy Pools et d'un excellent restaurant : le Old Inn. Il faut bien sur un véhicule.

The location could not be beat. The room was perfect and the common area was incredibly comfortable. The owners were incredibly helpful in orienting us to the Isle of Skye and provided fantastic suggestions!

The location is relatively remote for the Isle but still close to a few great hikes (we drove to the Cuillin and spent a day hiking up there) and the recommendations for the oyster shed in Carbost was perfect.

Katrina' place is excellent. Location, although remotely, is easily accessible by car. The hosts were lovely. They recommended great sight seeing spots as well as restaurants. Their breakfast was delicious. The amebities in the house were top notch! I highly recommend staying there.

Local restaurants can be very busy so research locations and menus (especially for vegetarian food) in and book a table in advance. Foxwood's information provided with the booking confirmation is very helpful. Some visitor attractions such as Dunvegan Castle, Fairy pools, Quiraing can also be very busy so be patient. Distances on roads might seem short on a map but if it's single carriageway with passing places driving can be slow and you need to be attentive and considerate. Skye is a beautiful place with lots to see and do so enjoy it!.
