26th September 2024:
The room, bed and en-suite bathroom are all very clean, uncluttered and comfortable. Ron and Pam provided superb local information especially about walks(hikes) and Ron has a background in mountaineering, and local distilleries, spirits. Pam’s breakfasts were terrific and we appreciated their flexibility to our schedule of departure and to our preferences.
Tips:This bed and breakfast is very conveniently located near the Skye bridge which is a great help for arrivals and departures by auto. There is a good selection of all conveniences within a few miles and beautiful sea side and mountain scenery and hikes.

Great place at half the price. The hosts probably don’t really want people in their home anymore, but are willing to do it as long as folks are willing to pay this excessive price

Wonderful. Thank goodness we chose to stay at Tir Alainn. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and through our stay, our room and en suite was well furnished and very comfortable, our breakfasts were a delight, well prepared, well cooked and plentiful. We were fascinated with the wonderful Whisky collection and I most appreciated hearing about them and the generous bonus of a whisky to taste. I would thoroughly recommend Tir Alainn and would love to stay again to see more of Skye. Our only regret is that our stay was too brief. Thank you very much.

Hello there, The Facility is amazing. Classic, handily made wooden furniture, a very cozy lounge and everything is in good shape. The couple running the place, Ron and his wife are just really nice, who enjoy talking to you and are incredibly knowledgeable on everything in scotland, from the spots to visit to and especially whisky. Also the breakfast they offer outclasses all of the hotels I've been to recently by far. I hope I will be able to return and can only recommend the place for everybody. Best Regards, Martin
Tips:Book dinner in advance, if you wnat to eat out. currently the staff situation is quite tense, so it's hard to find a place to eat out spontaneously.

The hosts Pam and Ron are extraordinary in their hospitality, local knowledge and kindness ... and OMG the breakfasts are the best my mother and I had in Scotland. The rooms were immaculate, clean and cosy and I had the stunning sea view. Everything was faultless. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Tips:Be aware you need to book restaurants if you want to guarantee getting in ... but after Pam's breakfast you don't need to eat all day!

Tir Alainn is an exceptional place to stay & Pam & Ron are amazing hosts. We stayed for 3 nights and Pam & Ron were most welcoming after a long drive. The accommodation is first class, extremely well looked after, spotlessly clean and everything has been thought about to make your stay perfect. The location is stunning. Pam & Ron go out of their way to make your stay very enjoyable and although you may arrive as a paying guest we certainly left them as friends. The breakfast choices are excellent and everything is freshly prepared. Pam's home made marmalade & jam are wonderful. We cannot recommend Tir Alainn highly enough, it is by far the best B & B we have ever stayed at and cannot wait to return.
Tips:The Isle of Skye is stunning, around each corner you drive is another beautiful view. The Hebridian is a good place to eat and so is The Claymore. The Fish & Chips shop in Broadford is a great place to buy fish & chips and sit on the beach to eat them.

Very nice place and nice host. There were peaceful surroundings, and the room had wonderful view to the sea. In the morning we enjoyed an excellent scottish breakfast that kept us going for hours.
Tips:Even though Tir Alainn is situated not far from the bridge to Isle of Sky, there is no problem to get anywhere you like on a day trip. We had only one day, and went to The old Man of Storr. On our way back to Fort William we took the summer-ferry, which was a really recommendable detour.

Everything we needed, and much more. Location is excellent for seeing the rest of Skye. Hosts Ron and Pam were fantastic – – knowledgeable about the area, particularly if you’re interested in hikes, climbing, whiskey, and local walks and restaurants that are gems. Breakfast were outstanding, with amazing fruit and Pam’s preserves. We are not vegetarian but went with the lighter breakfast options and it was fabulous..
Tips:Red Skye restaurant was within walking distance, personable, and excellent . Ask Ron and Pam about two walks: to the beach that’s about 10 to 15 minutes from the B & By , and to the clearance village of Boreraig that is close by in Broadford. Both more among the most memorable things we did while on Skye.

My stay was amazing. My hosts were very kind and helpful with suggestions of different places to visit. My room was lovely, with well thought out little touches, such as binoculars to view the scenery. Very clean and decorated beautifully. Food was great and there was a comfortable guest lounge and a proper dining room, which meant the guests had conversations. I was sorry to leave.

Super location with a good view. Everything you need in a B&B and made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Lots of reading material and advice about the local area on tap. One small downside for me (personal view only) was that the pillows were far too firm and I didn't sleep well. Suggestion might be that the spare pillows in wardrobe could be a different firmness so that guests have a choice. Otherwise, couldn't fault it and breakfast excellent although would have preferred it a little later as I was on holiday!

We found the owners Ron and Pam most hospitable and helpful in recommending places to visit from their in depth knowledge of Skye. They are passionate about their beautiful Isle. The breakfasts were first class and varied. They were both interested to know how we had enjoyed our days but not obtrusively so.
Tips:Ron is a mine of information about the mountains and hills round about, so walkers and those wanting to stretch themselves on the Cuillen have someone who can tell them all about the range. We were though primarily interested in seeing some of the magnificent wild life and scenery and here too Ron and Pam were very helpful. We found the local restaurants recommended to be of a generally high standard and were never disappointed.

Pam and Ron: they are very kind and welcoming, they made felt us like at home. Their wide knoledge and experience about the Skye mountains was a great surprise and they recommended us some tracks to follow. The place is very well located and confortable. I will come back to Skye any other time, and this will be the place to stay.

Next time when we will arrive we will read the sign better, so we will find Tir Alainn promptly. We enjoyed very much the hospitality of Ron and Pam. We got a lot of hints and informations on our questions for sightseeing and hiking (and also tasting whisky). We enjoyed very much the excelent dinner by Pam and Ron. There was only one problem: our stay was too short (3 nights)!

Ron and Pam were absolutely delightful hosts. The breakfasts were wonderful. The fish monger delivered fresh fish every morning. The accommodations were excellent. Our room had a view of the bay, islands and mountains, and red sunsets. Ron and Pam were very helpful in providing information about the area. This location was perfect for our trip - providing easy access to Isle of Skye and the Highlands areas to the east of the Isle.
Tips:If you are unfamiliar with the area - ask for directions to the house. Check out the Red Sky Restaurant, which serves unexpectedly delicious food and is within walking distance of the house. If you are taking the Armadale-Mallaig ferry, this house is about 20-30 minutes away - easy access.

The hosts were welcoming and helpful with information about things to do on Skye. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast provided was excellent, both in terms of food quality and variety. Better Wi-Fi would have been appreciated, however, since it was unusable in both of the larger bedrooms (you have to go into the hall or the lounge to get a signal). Also, we thought the bathroom light situation was strange (no switch, only works at night) as was the door (automatic closer won't let it stay open so consequently the bathroom gets no heat). If these two problems were fixed, it would be a big improvement.
