2nd October 2026:
I could live in the shepherd's hut forever! It's absolutely gorgeous and cosy and has the most amazing view ever. The hut is so well stocked with everything a traveller might need. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the shower was one of the best I've had in Scotland. Jen is a wonderful host who went out of her way to help me when I had an accident. I highly recommend staying in this beautiful abode!
Tips:Uig is a great location for exploring the Isle of Skye if you have a car. There's a local grocery store with all the supplies you'll need. The ferry is right there on the doorstep to take you out to other islands. Uig was by far my favourite part of Skye. It has it's own special kind of magic in both the scenery and the people

Wonderful, beautiful hut! It had everything we needed. They provided cozy in house slippers and large soft towels. The kitchen was stocked with everything and more. Delicious coffee, tea, milk, eggs, ham, yogurts, granola, butter and oat cakes! We loved having fires in the evenings while looking out over the water. I’m the mornings we enjoyed the crips air with our hot coffee and breakfast sandwiches made from the fresh eggs left for us. We felt like we were at home and we didn’t want to leave. Stewart and Jenn are awesome. They gave us suggestions on where to go and what to do on Skye, Inverness and Pitlochry. We will be back and we will recommend Frayven Stays to everyone we talk to.
Tips:Everything! It is so beautiful! Our favorite was the Fairy Glenn and 57 Skye Distillery. The Uig hotel restaurant was delicious and the staff was so kind. We loved chatting with Nick and Harrison two nights in a row. Definitely make a reservation. They are very popular. The brewery was nice. You can walk down the street and pick up a few bottles to take home, or to enjoy on the picnic benches. They don’t do tours or tastings at the moment. Take time to relax, enjoy the view, and pet the sweet kitty’s.

The place was very nice and cosy, with excellent location for visiting some of the natural beauties of the Isle of Skye. The staff is super nice, welcoming and helpful.

One of the very best stays ever. Every little detail was well thought out. (Thank you for the little flashlight near the foot of the bed!) I was actually a little sad when it came time to leave. 20/10 would recommend. If I could change anything, I would add a hook or two in the bathroom somewhere. Oh yes--thanks also for the food (tasty eggs!) and for the well-stocked kitchen. It is always great when places actually have oil and vinegar. Superb. Thank you so much.

It has been a wonderful stay, in all aspects the staff has provided great attention to detail. The house had everything we could possibly need, and we truly appreciated how thoughtfully prepared and spotlessly clean everything was. Congratulations on creating such a lovely space!
