1st August 2026:
We are just home from a wonderful week staying in Anmara. Skye is so incredibly beautiful, the breath taking scenery brings as much joy on the rainy days as when the sun shines. The cottage was very comfortable, homely and well equipped with everything we needed. Mairi was so friendly, helpful and gave great advice on the area. She welcomed us with delicious home made pancakes. It was so relaxed and laid back, we felt very welcomed. Cannot recommend Gairloch View Holiday Cottages highly enough.
Tips:We loved the Museum of Island Life and Dunvagen Castle Gardens and the Coral beach. Corran beach is really close and lovely to explore. The Old Man of Storr is also really close and we had a wondeful walk round the Quaraing which is 5 minutes from the cottage.

The cottage has all facilities you need to feel at home. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The living room and 2 bedrooms are big enough.
Tips:The location is ideal for spectacular walks and stunning views. It is recommended to have a car when you are staying here.

My family of four stayed at Gailroch View Holiday Cottage for 3 amazing nights on the beautiful Isle of Skye. The host, Mairi personally came to the door and greeted us with some fresh eggs from her own chickens. The homes wonderfully appointed with enough everything you would need to feel welcome and at home. We were able to cook in the kitchen, do some laundry, and have some fun family time hanging out in the super comfy living area. With so much to do, we had a hard time leaving the home in the morning as there is such a beautiful view and we were so comfortable! We would definitely recommend staying here and hopefully we will able to visit Scotland again! Would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed the stay at your accomodation, the friendlyness of the hosts and the Location in Terms of Visiting Great hikes and Spots is amazing. We enjoyed the Remote Location and the Calming place. We had all comfort we needed. Great Equipment in the Kitchen.
Tips:Even though the old man of storr and the quairing are Highway frequented Spots they are worth a visit. We also did the storr summit definitely a great hike. Enjoy the Warnung welcome and recommendarions of Mairi and the Sheeps, Cats and cows also living Next to this place as well as the sea view.

We had a wonderful stay at Gairloch View Holiday Cottages! The cottage is situated in a truly beautiful spot and is incredibly well-equipped—it was perfect for preparing all our home-cooked meals. Our stay was very comfortable, and it was such a pleasure being there. A huge thank you to our host, who was so lovely and kind throughout our visit. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!
Tips:Take up the great hiking trails in the area, breathtaking. And don't forget to visit the sauna 10 minutes down the road, what a treat!

2nd May 2026:
Mairi and Donald are the nicests hosts. They are easy to reach and are very helpfull. The cottage has everything you need. We stayed for 5 nights and would stay at gairloch view again if we would go to the isle of skye again. The location is amazing, it has the bests view and the couch is super comfy.
Tips:It's just a 10 minute drive to the quiraing walk and 18 minutes to the old man of storr, so it's perfect if you like hiking. When you drive to the old man of storr you drive past some nice viewpoints like kilt rock, lealt falls and rigg viewpoint. Portree is 30 minutes away. The dinosaur footprints are at 5 minutes away.

lovely little house with a gorgeous sea view! Mairi was such a lovely host. Even in the super cold wind/rain storm, the house was super cozy and warm. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need to cook an easy meal. the house is minutes from the Quiraing and some of the most beautiful views in Skye!
Tips:Come, relax, have a walk and enjoy. The Hungry Gull is a delicious lunch stop- in the off season, there is not much out here- stop in Portree for drinks and snacks!

The most cosy accomodation in Island. My family and I enjoyed. The house was warm, we were grateful for prepared snacks such as bites, milk, juice, butter, croissants etc. We enjoyed also games prepared in the house such as Monopoly Scotland Edition. I hope we ll come back! Thanks for everything.
Tips:Man of Storr, Quiraing, Fairy Glen, Dinosaur Beach. The best pizza in the island is Gasta port Righ in the capital city.

The property was absolutely spotless, with great views out to the sea and easy access and parking. Mairi was very friendly and helpful, with advice on good walks, points of interest and places to eat. The accommodation was very well equipped, and all in good working order. I wouldn't plan to be cooking and awful lot as the kitchen diner is quite small, but perfect for breakfast and lunches or a lazy evening for a family of 4 was fine.
Tips:Grab a cake and coffee from Columba 1400 along the road as you're heading out for the day. The walk to An Coran for the Dino prints is great, but if you have younger children I would plan to retrace your steps from the beach, rather than complete the full circuit unless you are comfortable walking on a single track road with quite a lot of campervans and cars. Don't miss the walk out to Brothers Point, takes a little bit of finding and timing of the tide, but there is a huge Apatosaurus footprint that you must see. Head up to Burr for a cake and coffee and sit looking out over the headlands before carrying round the coast for a great day out, quite a few scenic stops and the museum of island life and back over the Quiraing.
