Ashaig B&B

4th October 2025:

für uns war es NEU in einem B&B zu übernachten und es hat uns sehr gefallen. Debora und Richard haben die Unterkunft mit viel Stil und Geschmack eingerichtet - da passt wirklich Eins zum Anderen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und auch sehr liebevoll und toll verlöstigt. Richard konnte gute Tipps für Unternehmungen oder Restaurantbesuche geben. Zum Frühstück gab es jeden morgen zwei warme Wahlmenüs - und egal was es war - es war einfach lecker.

Wir können diese Unterkunft bedenklos weiterempfehlen. Die Lage ist Ruhig und man befindet eigentlich schön Zentral auf der Insel - so daß diverse Anfahrwege zu den Highlights relativ gleich sind.

We really enjoyed staying at this great B&B just minutes west of Portree. Everything was as described and then some. Richard was very proactive in making sure we had all the pre-arrival info we needed, as well as making sure we knew to make reservations for dinner, providing us with a full list of recommendations. Deborah was wonderful in taking the time, together with Richard, to not only walk us through the facilities and make us feel at home, but to cook two outstanding breakfasts. Their house is in a beautiful Iocale, across from a sheep farm that borders the water with the Outer Hebrides on the horizon. Great area for a long walk with outstanding scenery. We can't recommend Ashaig B&B strongly enough!

As recommended by Richard & Deborah, we enjoyed a great dinner at the Stein Inn, 15 mins west of Ashaig B&B and the oldest Inn on the Isle of Skye.

Great service and quality! It really felt like home! Great quality with the facilities i.e., towels, bedding, shower, etc. Always replenished the complimentary cookies in our room! Great homemade breakfast. Very friendly and helpful hosts that care about their guests.

The houses are not numbered in chronological order, so keep driving past house #5, even though you drive by #8 and #4 first.

Ein herzlicheres Gastgeberpaar als Deborah und Richard kann man sich nicht vorstellen! Moderne Bäder und alle Räumlichkeiten sind mit viel Liebe und Geschmack eingerichtet und wundervoll dekoriert. Hier kann man sich einfach nur wohlfühlen! Ein umfangreiches und leckeres Frühstück mit 2 warmen Gerichten zur Auswahl. Ob das aktuelle Wetter oder Ausflugstipps - man wird perfekt beraten! Wir würden gerne wiederkommen und länger bleiben. Ideal gelegen für die Erkundung von Orten und der Natur.

Den Abend mit einem gemütlichen Bummel am Meeresarm ausklingen lassen. Für alles sehenswerte der Insel ist die Lage optimal. Die ruhige Lage mit dem Blick aufs Wasser ist grandios!!

The location was just absolutely perfect with magical and beautiful views to the sea. The hosts of ashaig were absolutely delightful and we felt so welcome to their beautiful house. Clean, comfortable and beautiful B&B with a stunning view of the loch and mountains. Exceeded our expectations. The hosts Debora and Richard were lovely and provided excellent advice on sights to see around Skye.

Although central Portree is the popular place to stay, we enjoyed staying a little further out, where there are less crowds and more quite surroundings. Ashaig was actually perfect. Highly recommend!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ashaig. The hosts were very attentive and paid attention to detail. The room and breakfast were both very nice.

If you are arriving early in the season, don’t hesitate to ask for a space heater to warm the place up. It is kept quite cool and a heater was not offered but was provided when requested.

We have been very good at Ashaig B&B. Debora and Richard were very friendly and correct. With their treatment, kindness and politeness, they managed to make us feel almost at home. Totally recommended. Thank you very much Richard for coming on our quest.

The location is a bit complicated and especially when you arrive at night. When we put the address on Google maps, the navigator took us to the house next door. All this is complicated by the type of access road, a very narrow street and if you also arrive at night, there are usually fog banks in that area. The house, the treatment of the owners, the food and the scenery are great.

We loved our stay at Ashaig B&B. It was in a beautiful and quiet location, the room was very clean and comfortable and breakfasts were lovely. Our hosts Debora and Richard, were very attentive to our needs and we enjoyed our chats. Richard had great suggestions for places to eat and to visit on Skye and beyond. This is a wonderful place to be away from all the crowds and bustle and experience the real Isle of Skye.

Book ahead for Stein Inn and/or Edinbane Inn for dinner - both are superb. On a fine day make sure to be home at sunset!

Dear travellers, First of all Deborah and Richard were the most lovely, caring and gentle hosts we experienced on our 10 day trip. The room and the whole house was created with the highest amount of attention to detail and curated beautifully. All in all our stay was a 10/10.

Take your time, there‘s so much to discover on the Isle of skye. Don‘t get scared by the weather conditions because it can get a little rough from time to time.

La demeure de Débora et Richard est charmante et très bien située ( cependant un panneau d'indication sur la grande route serait appréciable, nous avons eu du mal à trouver la maison ). La chambre est confortable et décorée avec goût. Richard et Débora nous ont réservé un très bon accueil. La maison est conviviale et chaleureuse, le breakfast est excellent et copieux. Seul bémol : la ventilation de la salle de bain très bruyante qui donne mal à la tête. Un abri ou un banc dehors serait un plus pour les fumeurs ou pour apprécier la vue magnifique. Merci pour ce séjour très agréable. J'ai personnellement beaucoup apprécié les objets de décoration sur le thème Alice in Wonderland pour lequel Débora et moi partageons la même passion 😊

We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our stay. A big plus is the changing breakfast options per day. The location is ideal to discover the upper side of Skye with free parking on the premises and in a very calm street. If we really have to search for anything negative, it would be that the sound isolation between the rooms isn't the best.

Deborah & Richard are incredibly kind hosts and the B&B is exceptional. The rooms are to a high standard, beautifully furnished and decorated with so many heartfelt touches and gorgeous details. The breakfast was outstanding, every day something new and delicious all home made to order by Deborah who is the most anazing chef. (I highly recommend her apple pancakes - just wow!) The view is stunning from the rooms out to the sea and the location is great just minutes away from some great spots and restaurants. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend to stay there.

Richard and Debora have a wonderful house with amazing views on the Isle of Skye. The house is in an amazing location. It was such a comfortable stay - Debora is a great cook and Richard has all the info on Scottish culture, local attractions and is so pleasant to talk to!

I would recommend staying for more than two nights and, if given the chance, have dinner at Edinbane Inn - a cosy, welcoming restaurant that served great food!

Outstanding in every regard. Gorgeous location, remote and peaceful yet within reasonable driving distance of Portree and short distance of good places to eat. An excellent base for a visit to Skye. Clean, comfortable, very tastefully decorated; lovely homely feel, welcoming.

If you are on Skye for a relaxing holiday, and you want to wake up and return to beautiful views in a quiet location yet easily reach the island's other attractions, if you appreciate warm hospitality, it would be hard to better this place.

Debora & Richard are very welcoming, they obviously enjoy having strangers to stay in their home. Debora makes sure that the breakfasts are varied and delicious while Richard is a mine of local information. The location is quiet and ideal for spotting otters and sea eagles if you're patient.

It can be much colder on the Isle of Skye than expected! Make sure you have waterproofs and warm layers.

We had a very pleasant stay at Ashaig B&B. Beautiful location right next to the water with amazing views. Hosts very kind and made us feel at home straight away. Rooms very clean and tastefully decorated. They gave us plenty of information and tips about Sky and places of interest . I had advised them of my dietary requirements and so much appreciated Deborah going through the effort of making gluten free pancakes for me. A real nice B&B to stay at with amazing hosts.

Hosts advised us about the Edinbane Inn not far from the B&B where we had a lovely dinner .

Richard and Deborah were wonderful hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast was great (place your order the night before), and includes yogurt, fresh fruit and cereals.

Amazing location with fabulous views across Loch Greshornish. This location is so peaceful you can instantly relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Portree etwa 19 km entfernt. Also besser alles vorher erledigen.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Debora and Richard's amazing B&B. They were very warm and welcoming throughout our stay and made us feel at home. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated with so much love in every detail. The freshly prepared breakfast was also super delicious. Great place. Hosts were very kind and friendly. Superb location overlooking a lock. Wonderful breakfast. Good size bedroom and excellent bathroom. The property is decorated to a high standard. No hesitation in recommending to anyone.

Wunderschön. Das hübscheste Gästezimmer unserer Rundreise durch Schottland. Hochwertige Einrichtung, super bequeme Betten. Blick aufs Meer. Ruhig gelegen. Sehr gutes Frühstück in einem hübschen Frühstücksraum. Und so nette Gastgeber. Einfach perfekt.

Es war vom Beginn der Buchung bis zum Abschluss einfach gut. Trotz unserer sprachlichen Eingeschränktheit war es jederzeit gut für uns mit euch zu sprechen. Es gab jeden Tag Tipps und Anregungen was man auf Sky tun und sehen kann. Euer Haus ist ein sehr warmes und ansprechendes B&B, sehr schöne Zimmer und ein herrliches Frühstück, einfach Klasse. Jeden Morgen wurden wir von der Katze begrüßt, ein Gefühl wie zu Hause. Ein herzliches Dankeschön für schöne Tage an Deborah und Richard.

The location and the view is fabolous. Richard and Debora are really friendly and warm and gives their best to provide every need of their guests every day. The place is clean and it was maintained every day and the decoration is interesting. Highly recommended to anyone, hard to beat this acommodation with any other.

Not far from Portree and also good location for many attractions through the Isle of Skye. You may be lucky if you can book your holiday using this accommodation.

Richard and Deborah were wonderful hosts. They were both very accommodating. Breakfast was awesome. The location was great for us. They had great suggestions about places to go hike and shop and eat.

Great views from the b&b. Skye requires driving. Plan time between locations because driving is slow. Also businesses shut early in the island.

Debora's and Richard's home is such a beautiful and comfortable place, they have renovated the house with love. Love is also the buzz word when in it comes to breakfast, recommendations for excursions or lovely small talk! One of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed! There are 2 restaurants nearby. The Inn is casual. The lodge is posh. Either way you have to book days in advance if you want a table.
