Your place is fantastic. Bed and shower are comfortable and guests have everything they need in the room. I am allergic to dust and I can say room and breakfast room were perfectly clean. Just a suggestion: the curtain that shades the window is not enough: those who sleep on the left side of the bed in the morning have the sun straight in their face and can be annoying :)

Kirsteen was an amazing host! So welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were some of the best food we had in our time in Scotland. The room was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We really felt at home at Stonefield House. We stayed at 5 different places on our Scotland trip and Stonefield House was our favorite.

The location is excellent, a short walk into the town center, but far enough to be in a nice quiet area. Close to the big sites on Skye and plenty of restaurants in town and close to the co-op to grab supplies or food.

A lovely place and very friendly owners. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, the rooms are well appointed. Breakfasts are what you'd expect, good food, well cooked, and enough to set you up for the entire day. Absolutely would stay again. Its an easy 10/10.

5 mins walk into town where you'll find a plethora of restaurants and cafes. Pre booking is a must for evening meals. Most restaurants seem to have online booking. Stonefield house is in a quiet part of town, and a welcoming place to get back to after a busy day.

Great place to stay on Skye. Rooms very comfortable with everything you might need supplied. Excellent breakfasts. Kirsteen is a friendly, caring host who works hard to make people feel welcome and ensure they have information about Skye that will enhance their stay.

We spent a day travelling over to Raasay. Stunning views as always in this area. Fairy pools is not our 'kind of outdoors' but stunning location nonetheless - but there are many others on Skye that won't be nearly as mobbed in the busier months. Antlers Restaurant in the Square (10 min walk) is our best recommendation for meals. Welcoming staff and good food.

We enjoyed our stay at Stonefield House. Kirsteen is an excellent host, even though we only stayed a night we pretty much felt at home. Our host took great care of our dietary needs which is something we truly appreciate. Breakfast was excellent. She also give us great advise on things to do. Thank you for your warm hospitality! We highly recommend the place.

We only stayed a night +the weather turned on us. I would suggest you break up the itinerary for things to do in Isle of Skye across 2-3 days and give yourself time to hike around to truly take in the beauty of the island.

Stonefield house is not only immaculate but every little detail has been considered, to make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. The tea and coffee area in the room was incredible and the chilled water and milk provided were a lovely touch. The bedroom brought the levels of comfort that are hard to leave - and there is a generous breakfast selection. We felt so comfortable here and will hopefully return when next visiting Skye.

Even if you come without set plans, there are ample tourist guides and maps, the host is very knowledgeable too - and helped us plan our brief photography trip.

Kirsten was fabulous, taking time to let us know about all the great places to visit and a range of places to eat in town, a quick 10 min walk away. Breakfast was extensive and delicious and made to order. Would highly recommend if travelling to Portree.

There is so many things to do on Isle of Skye, lots of amazing walks with stunning scenery. All the travel tips give you about 10 “must do” and we divided it between the two full days there. My absolute favourite was The Old Man of Storr walk ( about 2 hours return). We travelled in November so be aware that it’s dark by 4:30.

An absolutely lovely stay in a gorgeous and spotlessly clean home. The staff are lovely and welcoming and happy to help with any requests. Kirsteen went out of her way to accommodate me with my dietary needs and allergies, and made me an amazing vegan breakfast every morning I was there. Stonefield House is the best accommodation I have stayed at in Scotland and I can't wait to go back there. It is evident that Kirsteen has put a lot of thought into what would make a guest's stay the best, and you can really feel that when you stay there.

There's so much to do in Skye. Ask Kirsteen and she will be more than happy to recommend things to do and see, and give you priceless info that only locals will know. If your vegan or vegetarian, you won't have any issues finding food in Skye. Everywhere has at least 1-2 vegan dishes and even more vegetarian options. There's some really cute little galleries selling art, craft and jewellery made by local artists in addition to all of the stunning natural attractions.

Short but sweet. Only able to stay one night as fully booked, would loved to have stayed longer. Host very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great location with a short easy walk to restaurants and shops in Portree. On site parking; quiet location. Many breakfast options served by a delightful young women. Our host provided us with an excellent orientation to the area and took time to point out things to see and do on Isle of Skye. There are also a number of guide books available, which was very helpful in our travels.

If possible travelers should book restaurants ahead of time. We did not do this but did find dinner places with minimal wait. In town we ate at the Isles Inn in Portree a couple of times...they don't take reservations and we only had a short wait for a table. While on the road one day, we were able to walk into the Uig Hotel and be seated immediately and the meal was very good.

We were ready for the second time at Stonefield House. The stay is always very pleasant. Breakfast is made with a lot of love and very tasty. Furnishings of the rooms and the bathrooms first class. Everything, room and breakfast area is upstairs which is very convenient. Cleanliness is very important, so that even street shoes are removed at the entrance. Kirsteen is a perfect hostess

Book restaurants in Portree well in advance. It seems absurd but you may not be able to eat in a restaurant if you wait until the day-of and attempt to walk in. You could be stuck buying food at a convenience store for dinner.

Location is in a residential neighborhood that's quiet and a shorter walk from central Portree than it looks. Sparkling clean everywhere with a very tasty breakfast. Lovely host family.

Go see the north end of Skye. Hike the Quiraing if you can. Even if you can't, taking the "shortcut" from Brogaig to Uig across the island up past the Quiraing—Google Maps won't show it as an option, but it's there and very drivable—is worth it and you can stop at the Quiraing Walk trailhead and take in the views if you're not up for a hike. Make reservations for dinner (probably any meal out) – absolutely critical if you don't want to be stuck with a takeaway or grocery store for meals. To get to the middle of Portree from Stonefield House, take the path through the woods just above the property and cut across the sports field.

Kirsteen and Ami were very friendly and welcoming and had many recommendations of places to visit. The short walk into town was quick and easy -although a torch is needed after dark. Kirsteen was very helpful with getting our jackets and shoes dried after a rainy day out exploring.

We travelled in February and lots of places were closed for winter. It's advisable to make reservations for dinners and lunches. You need to make sure you have lunch long before 2pm or you'll struggle to find places still serving food

We truly enjoyed spending one night here, the room is very comfy, cleaned, the bathroom is incredible, and the breakfast is wonderful with lots of fresh products. The staff is lovely and very charming, helpful and with lots of good advices concerning the area. It's 5min by foot from the center (when crossing a shortcut) so it is a real pleasure to stay here, you directly feel like home when you arrive there.

The staff will be better at giving you tips but Portree is very lovely with some restaurants, one pub which close at 11pm and also offers some foods (The Isles Inn).

Take the shortcut to town from Stonefield across the pitch and enjoy all the wonderful sights and sounds of Portree. Short drive north to Storr is highly recommended. Kirsteen is well versed in all aspects of Skye’s must see highlights.

Most lovely lady who helped us so much despite all the inconvenient happenings of the day. We arrived very late but the host was very friendly. Even though it was a short stay, we had the best time at the stonefield house. The next time we're on Skye we will surely visit again.

Excellent BB, room has everything you need and more. Nice extra touches, very well thought out items in the room like extra storage bins, cookies, whiskey, bathroom items and a mini fridge. I liked that the room had 2 comfortable chairs to sit in. Hostess was super nice and helpful. Excellent parking. Very nice breakfast with a lot of extras. Would stay here again and would recommend it.

We loved our stay here! Kirsteen and her daughter Amy, we’re fabulous! The rooms had absolutely everything you need and more. We were travelling with 4 teenagers so they took the big room and we had the double room. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. You can walk to town from this location and we recommend you do as parking is challenging in the village. Thsnk you again for a wonderful stay! We should have stayed here two nights!

This is a great hub to stay two nights as there is so much to see on Skye! Also because restaurants are having difficulty getting staff, book reservations. We often ate quite late because we had a hard time getting reservations.

My husband and I recently stayed at Stonefield House for two nights. It is absolutely amazing in all categories! The accommodations are lovely, the breakfast was delicious, and the provisions-an assortment of hot drinks peand snacks, a modern bathroom, etc. The setting is lovely and peaceful. The town is only a 10 minute walk away. The best thing about Stonefield, though, is Kirsteen, the owner/manager. She went far above and beyond to provide for all our needs throughout our stay!

The Isle of Skye is beautiful! We used a guide to drive around the peninsula with numerous stops for sights and walks or hikes. Porter is a fun and pretty town to walk around. There are many restaurants to choose from so make reservations ahead if possible. We had good fish & chips as take away for our first night.

Such a friendly welcome. Our room was perfect and I loved the huge bathroom with lots of hot water. Slept very well and had a lovely breakfast. My only regret is we were over scheduled and could not stay longer.

Dunvegan Castle was interesting, but we mostly enjoyed driving around for the scenery

We were greeted with a very warm welcome into our cosy room. The breakfast was wonderful, the location is just a few minutes walk to the centre of Portree. Everything had been thought of! Would thoroughly recommend this lovely guest house.

We took up a tour around the island, which is just stunning. We recommend travellers book restaurant reservations in advance in Portree. Alternatively the fish and chips are tasty!

Lovely clean and comfortable property. Friendly atmosphere. Lovely guest area and fridge/coffee maker in bedroom. Lovely decor. Good porridge. Only criticism - we felt rushed between courses at breakfast.
