Stunning location which served as a great base to explore Skye. The cottage felt warm and cosy despite the 80mph winds outside! The view from the hot tub was incredible. We would definitely return!

Very confy and beatiful cottage with an exceptional view
Tips:Located in the north of the island is a place where you can only arrive by car. You have a lot of walks around. But you don't have any restaurant near (a part of the hotel) and neither a supermarket

Fantastic stay in the MacQueen cottage, which was very well equipped with everything we needed. We very much enjoyed the hot tub. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing, lovely staff and service too. Would highly recommend.
Tips:Walk out to Rhuba Hunish, the most northerly point on the island. Stunning views on a clear day.

I enjoyed my stay at Monkstadt - I could have stayed longer. It's a special place - quiet, peaceful and a very beautiful property which I enjoyed walking around. The views from my cottage were amazing at sunset. Having brought only a carry-on with me, I appreciated the use of your laundry facilities (thank you).

The staff was very friendly and the cottage was very comfortable and cozy. The food and dinner service was top-notch as well!
Tips:It seems dinner reservations around Uig fill up far in advance. Luckily, Monkstadt was able to accommodate us on the second night of our stay, but not the first as it was already full. I would recommend booking your dinner reservations well in advance. I highly recommend stopping in Portree on your way to Monkstadt and visiting Cafe Arriba for breakfast or lunch. The hike at the Old Man of Storr was breathtaking!

We particularly appreciated the helpful, courteous and friendly staff, which made us feel very welcome and very much at home. As an architect, I feel that the restoration and upgrading of the buildings has been done to a very high standard while retaining the historic atmosphere of the place. If ever we decide to buy a plot in Skye to build a house I will invite James MacQueen to be my contractor.
Tips:There are major sights, such as Dunvegan Castle and gardens which are well worth the visit. But mostly we enjoyed the hiking routes: I would strongly recommend an OS guide called "Isle of Skye: Outstanding circular walks". We only skimmed the surface of the easier walking routes, but they were all excellent, including Oronsay; Coral Beach; and Rubha Hunish;

This is a beautiful location. The accommodation is maintained to a very high standard. I highly recommend a stay here. I will be booking my next stay as soon as I can.
Tips:Some would see this as a remote location as you will need to drive to places but that is part of its charm. But this is Skye. You will need to drive but nothing is that far away.
