Oh my gosh, staying at the Larchside was the highlight of our two week trip to Scotland and Ireland!! We couldn't have asked for better accommodations or friendlier owners. Craig was wonderful and the breakfast each morning was delicious. None of us wanted to leave as we wished we had more time there. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of where the B&B is located.
Tips:I'd highly suggest going to the Portree Hotel for a dinner as the food and service was great. Also, if you can, get a private driver to take you around the Isle of Skye. Well worth your money.

Craig and Kasia were absolutely amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay the most relaxing and stress free possible
Tips:Don’t be shy to ask for recommendations! They secured us reservations to an amazing restaurant that ended up being our favorite meal for the whole trip

Very friendly and helpful host. Comfortable accommodation and fabulous breakfast
Tips:We can recommend the Portree Hotel for dinner as we spent 3 nights eating there! We loved the Fairy Glen. Toilets are fairly scarce in Trottinish loop. There was one at the Museum of Island life (not in museum) also st single track cafe (near by). Drinks at kilt rock and Neist Point.

7th September 2019:
Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and spotlessly clean, with tea / coffee facilities and obviously home-made shortbread. Breakfast with delicious fresh berries. Warm breakfast is freshly made according to individual wishes. All the guests have breakfast at the same time (8.30) at one big table, so that you get to know the others and you can share plans and ideas for the day. View is great from the big dining room window. Parking behind the house.
Tips:You can very well follow the advice of host Craig who knows a lot and is interested in geography, geology, history and arts. He is very committed to tell his guests about the beauties of Skye, giving out printed maps with additional information (what and when to visit, where to park ...). The recommended restaurants in Portree (Sea Breezes, Cucullin, Rosedale) are fine with good seafood. Larchside is a good location to see impressive Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Quiraing, wonderful Fairy Glen and the other amazing sights of Trotternish. You can see the other sights of the Isle (Fairy Pools or Neist Point) too, but you need a car. Roads are often narrow (single track), so don't rent a big one. Motorhomes are often too big.

Larchside is in a really nice quiet location just a short drive out of Portree - it was good to be slightly out of town which can get quite busy. Craig was a wonderful host - he’s full of helpful insights and provided the most comprehensive check-in/introduction we’ve ever experienced! He went out of his way to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and were able to make the most of our time on the island. Highly recommended!
Tips:Portree can get very busy - make sure you book your dinners at least a night in advance to secure a table!

A bit out of the way, but a great view and peace. Great house, great rooms, great guards. The best inn we stayed in during 2 weeks tour of Scotland.
Tips:Definitely reserve in the restaurants beforehand. And let Greg give you his route, that's awesome :)

Tips:We dined at the Portree Hotel Restaurant the first night and liked it so much we went back the next night.

Our 2nd visit to Larchside was wonderful. Fabulous B&B with excellent room, breakfast and attention to detail. Craig is so informative about the area and he gives a lot of time and attention to every guest. You won't be disappointed if you book to stay here!
Tips:Try climbing the Storr or Quiraing in the late evening when most of the tourists have left. Take a midge net with you each day you go out to explore Skye.

29th June 2019:
Excellent Craig and Kasia were very welcoming and made you feel “at home” immediately upon arrival. Nothing was too much trouble or effort and Craig was extremely helpful in assisting us to plan and organise our excursions. Larchside is a few minutes drive out of Portree and is 0.7 miles down a single track lane off the A855 which provides solitude, quietness and privacy with spectacular views of surrounding countryside. The house looks almost new and is beautifully furnished and very well decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean and of the best quality. All of the rooms at the front of the property enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Our bedroom, which was at the front of the house, was spacious and contained a king size bed which was extremely comfortable. The bedding was top quality and the tartan quilt/bed spread was a nice touch. The ensuite bathroom/shower was spotlessly clean, with a lovely powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The dining area was at the front of the property and hence enjoyed the spectacular views. There was a separate lounge area to the side/front of the house which unfortunately due to time constraints, we didn’t have the opportunity to use. The lounge looked very comfortable and also enjoyed the spectacular views. Access to the property is quite easy and there is plenty of room for parking at the rear of the property. The breakfast was tasty with many healthy options, including fresh fruit, in addition to the traditional “Scottish Breakfast” and Kasia’s home-made bread was absolutely delicious. All produce is locally sourced and was of very good quality and taste. Many thanks Craig & Kasia for making our stay so enjoyable and should we ever plan to come to Skye again we would most certainly wish to stay with you.

Very nice location, with a beautiful view if the sky is clear. The breakfast was cooked to order and very good, with freshly baked bread, and homemade shortbread in the room.
Tips:Many natural sights and spectacular scenery, but driving is slow, so allow sufficient time. A great selection of restaurants; reservations are required for most of them.

Excellent B&B! Warm welcome by Craig and many useful tips were provided by him. Thank you again for your great hospitality and perfect service.
Tips:Restaurants in Portree to be booked carefully beforehand. Or be prepared to queue patiently at restaurants that do not take reservations. There is nothing wrong with that of course. The Talisker Whisky and Chocolate Tour is too expensive for what it is: overrated.

12th May 2019:
This was our first B&B experience. Craig and Kasia have set the bar very high. We loved everything about our stay, larchside B&B had a warm friendly feel. Our room was bright and cheery with shortbread a kettle tea all ready upon our arrival. The view from our room was of the mountains. Craig gave us lots of information about the various restaurants and sights to see while in Skye. The breakfast both mornings were amazing. You can tell Craig and Kasia put their heart and soul into everything. We would stay here again and highly recommend it. We just loved it.
Tips:Definitely recommend the tour with Skye tours around the island. Donald our driver was knowledgeable and he took us to so many wonderful sights. It was a small passenger van so we were able to go to a few places that big tour buses can’t get to.

Such a fantastic stay! Craig and Kasia set the gold standard for what a B&B should be. All aspects were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We’d love to come back and stay longer. Spotlessly clean, delicious breakfast, and the shortbread was fabulous.
Tips:Craig recommended and made a reservation for us at Scorrybrec in Portree, it was a wonderful little place. Also, the Fairy Glen, Pools and Quiraing are not to be missed!

16th April 2019:
Very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were excellent - bed was comfy, the room sparkling clean, the shower relaxing. Loved the shortbread, and the breakfast was one of the best and most filling we had in a long time. It was a short stay, but would love to return to Skye and book here again! We loved our stay!
Tips:There are so many things to see on Skye if you're in to the outdoors. We loved climbing up Old Man of Storr. The views at the top are amazing. We enjoyed just driving around the island, and just stopping to view and admire the scenery. We were in Portree the weekend before Easter and it was already quite busy with visitors. In the future, we'd definitely will book ahead if there's a restaurant we'd really like to go, or go early around 6pm to avoid a wait.
