We had a superb visit at Ancala! Our hosts were charming and you can tell how proud they are of their home. It is situated right on the waters edge making for a spectacular setting, we even had a rainbow. The owners have considered the travelers every need, from cozy bedding to an exceptional bathroom, not to mention a wonderful breakfast.
Tips:We took a ride to Aird of Sleat and were awed at every turn by the awesome views.

I think this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my entire life. The only “but” is that we had to leave so soon. What a place, what a breakfast... our Hosts were absolutely discrete yet concerned about our comfort. Thanks so much. Highly recommended!
Tips:Next to several former yet excellent michelin star restaurants, one hour drive up to the picturesque town of Portree (excellent seafood), and a outstanding communication both by ferry (literally, you see if the ferry is leaving or not from your bed — 10 minutes walk, but booking extremely recommended!!) and road (45 min drive to Kyle of Lochalsh).

The location is breathtaking and wonderful with this view. WOW. It is just not so easy to find but then it is the perfect location to stay You are a sympatic couple who does everything to make the guests feel comfortable. Thank you so much for everything0
Tips:Book the fairy before you going to stay in armadale. It is quite busy! The inn is a really nice restaurant and puc with delicious food just 10min walking from ancala. You are able to sit outside with a Seaview as well. Also the ruins and gardens are worth it to see (as well on a rainy day)

I had been looking forward to staying at Ancala and it was the highlight of our holiday! The location is stunning and the property is beautiful- light, bright, modern, stylish and immaculately clean. The view from the comfiest bed ever was unbeatable and Alan and Jane were very welcoming and friendly with helpful suggestions of places to visit that fitted in with our timeframe and personal tastes. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and Alan was kind enough to share some of his culinary secrets with us! If we are ever back in the area then I will definitely return to Ancala and would encourage other Travellers to put it at the top of their list as an experience not to be missed.
Tips:We ate on both evenings at the local pub at Ardvasar which had a varied menu at reasonable prices and is an easy walk away. The staff were friendly and offered ideas of places to visit and the food was good. We only had one full day on Skye and wanted to avoid the tourist traps and so stayed in the south of the island. We took a boat trip from Elgol and saw porpoises, lion jellyfish, seals and a variety of bird life all guided by a very knowledgeable skipper who informed us of the local history surrounding the small islands and the volcanic cove whilst making it a fun trip at the same time. One of the girls running the boat company gave us an excellent tip for a place to park up on the way back to follow a waterfall uphill which we did and got some brilliant photos in peace and quiet- which the Fairy Pools certainly wouldn’t have been! We then followed a loop around the Sleat peninsular and went for a walk on a variety of beaches. All told it was exactly what we were looking for on Skye.

A magical peaceful place that we will never tire of visiting.

The variety of breakfast was super, tasty cooked, served designed, and healthy. The bathroom was clean, the bedliniens were clean and soft. Strongly recommended accomodation :)
Tips:Good thing is the location since the ferry to and from Mailig is just 1 min away by car from the accomodation. There was a nice tapas bar next to the accomodation, I could recommend that place.

This was one of my favorite B&Bs we stayed at while touring Scotland. The place was immaculately clean and the room was beautifully furnished. The breakfast was far better than food we had eaten at the local restaurants. Our hosts were attentive and friendly. They gave us lots of recommendations and tips for getting around Skye. One of my favorite things was to open the window in the evening and relax to the waves crashing as the tide came in. What a beautiful view!. I would recommend Ancala in a heartbeat.
Tips:One tip I would say is that while traveling around Skye don’t think the GPS is lying when it comes to the time it takes to get around the isle. Being from the USA, we had the impression that we could pretty much get anywhere in Scotland with in the day. There is something to be said about Scottish roads. It is not the 70mph freeway such as in the USA. Quite a few roads are one lane roads with passways. You aren’t going to be traveling fast. So plan extra time on your drives. You will need it.

Wow, this wasn't just a place to stay. It was one of those places that I'll remember forever. Absolutely an enthusiastic 5-star experience and hidden gem. If you get a chance to book here, do it and be amazed.
Tips:1) The sunset from our window was so stunning that we didn't even go out to eat. Our hosts provided plenty of area suggestions, though, in a variety of styles and price ranges. 2) Ancala is not marked and kind of hidden, don't be discouraged by the difficulty in locating it, its worth finding!

The owners of this B and B are so warm friendly and competent at what they do it's a bit like staying with a friend! The rooms are in a separate wing of their own home which is the most stunning home I've ever been in. Everything is clean, stylish and well thought out. The location and the views must be unrivalled on Skye-it's a bit like sleeping on the beach! The breakfasts were fabulous with all the baking for bread, muffins and rowdies done by Jane and Alan behind the stove. We can't wait to come back- three nights was not enough!
Tips:The Ardvasar hotel is just ten minutes walk away and serves decent "pub grub" and was a friendly place for a drink. About a 20 minutes drive takes you to the Kylerhea reserve with an otter hide from where we saw seals and back at the car park the RSPB hide and ranger helped us spot sea eagles which was amazing. Top tip for staying here is allow time to actually spend at the B and B enjoying the view!

The location is just fabulous. We could have spent days just admiring the view across the water! We received a warm welcome and the room had all the amenities we required including a very comfortable bed with quality bedding and towels. We are very grateful for the lift to Broadford.
Tips:Enjoy this stunning location.

So beautiful and calming to stay here. Alan and Jane were great hosts. Their breakfasts were perfectly pitched for our tastes. We will definitely be going back.
Tips:The Lobster shack at Carbost was a good recommendation as was the pub Alan suggested in a nearby village about 10 mins drive away. The food there was excellent.

A lot of thought and attention to detail here. Ancala sits lightly on the landscape. The floor to ceiling window overlooking the sea showcases one of the most spectacular views I have ever experienced in a B&B. A choice of breakfast and a mix of traditional and new made it hard to choose. The food was delicious.
Tips:Loads to see and do in Skye for everyone.
