Skye Mountain Lodge

10 Torrin
Tel: 01471 822377
Welcome to Skye Mountain Lodge where we have magnificent, uninterrupted panoramic views to Loch Slapin, Red Hills, surrounding mountains and hills and Blaven (Blà Bheinn) arguably, many would say the most beautiful mountain in the Cuillin range. Our home is situated in the picturesque, crofting village of Torrin, near Elgol, south Skye and is a very good base for exploring other areas of the Isle of Skye and Kyle of Lochalsh. Nearby, the Blue Shed Cafe has a variety of delicious home baking and tea/coffee. We are located about 7 miles from Broadford, where you have easy access to further amenities e.g. bank, supermarket, chemist, pubs and restaurants. There are popular boat trips from Elgol which will take you to the heart of the Cuillins and on visits to some of the islands in the Inner Hebrides e.g. Rhum, Canna and Eigg.

21st June 2019:

Thank your very much to you and your husband for a great welcome in a fabulous location. The room was lovely and there was access to a kettle with coffee and tea and fridge with fresh milk in the communal sitting area which was really handy. The location is fabulous - directly opposite Blaven.

Tips:

We can recommend the boat trip from Elgol and the lovely restaurant there as well as the community run tearoom and coffee outlet by the harbour - all in Elgol. The tearoom in Torrin was closed during our visit. There are some good restaurants in Broadford.

Incredible place! The house is in the middle of nothing and it has got awsome views! Mary and her husband are lovely and they help us in all things we’ve asked. The breakfast is also very good. We would repeat without doubt!!

Tips:

Everything is a little far from the house. The nearest restaurants are about 15 minutes by car, but there you can find different kind of restaurants, a supermarket, a petrol station...

Mary’s home was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming!Delicious breakfast.Beautiful views of lake and mountains. Comfortable beds. Couldn’t have been nicer! Also a very nice kitchenette and living room outside of the guest rooms, for coffee and tea, and a nice place to sit and plan the day, with more views of the mountains.

Tips:

Restaurants and grocery store in Broadford, 15 minute drive. Laundry facilities in Portree, half hour away.

Skye Mountain Lodge is a jewel in Skye's crown! Beautiful house with stunning views and gorgeous guest room ... and the comfiest bed ever. The breakfasts were superb and served in the dining room overlooking the loch and snow capped mountains: idyllic. Mairi and Angus Niall made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay so special. Thank you - we will be back.

8th June 2017:

Skye Mountain Lodge was more than we expected...more comfortable, more beautiful, more welcoming and more luxurious! The surroundings were breathtaking. The bed....well, it was very difficult to leave it in the morning after a sound sleep! The sitting room was lovely, with games, teas/coffee/hot chocolate, biscuits etc. Lots of special little touches made us feel very spoiled. Mairi and Angus were perfect hosts, serving us a delicious breakfast and supplying information about where to eat, what to do and see etc. Difficult place to leave!

Tips:

The boat trip from Elgol to Loch Cruisk and the Cuillins (wear warm clothes, rain gear and good walking boots) Red Skye Restaurant. Portree. Dunvegan Castle.

Fantastic location, with spectacular views. Accommodation was very good, large bedroom and excellent bathroom. The mezzanine lounge area for guest including a small kitchen area was ideal. Would highly recommend.

Tips:

Good selection of restaurants in Broadford, but do book as they get very busy. The Harbour restaurant was very good.

Tips:

Dunvegan Castle. Bonnie Prince Charlie's Cave in Elgol, the Fairy Pools, Talisker Distillery. - the food at Coruisk House in Elgol was worth a second trip... and the boat trip to Loch Coruisk was also good
