6th September 2017:

We have been at the Breaside Cottage for one week and it was great. The cottage is wonderful, perfectly equipped and furnished with great attention to details. It is located in a beautiful and quite area not far away from tha main hiking attraction of the islanf (Old Man of Storr and Quiraing) We loved Debbie´s great hospitality.

Tips:

At walking distance from the cottage you can find a small grocery with freshly cooked indian food and a petrol station. We loved the athmosphere in the Glenview Skye Pie Cafe between Staffin and the Old Man of Storr. If you like hiking nad enjoy gorgeous landscapes this is the right place to be.

29th June 2017:

The cottage is comfortable, on a superb location near the Quiraing. Good information about interesting walks in the cottage. Everything was just fine, except there were no instructions about anything, for example about heating and hot water, wifi password. Batteries of the remote control were flat, fortunately we found spare batteries in the kitchen drawer.

Tips:

We recommend the Columba for meals, the Art Cafe for lunch and The Ilses Inn in Portree if you want a proper bar meal (we went there on a Sunday when most restaurants were closed). Good walks nearby.

11th October 2016:

A wonderful cottage! It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and it had everything we needed to feel at home. It was cosy and warm, and we loved the little biscuit treats that Debbie had left out for us. Our 19 month old girl enjoyed the toys and books that were available in the cottage, but spent most of her time marvelling out the window at the sheep!

Tips:

The beach across the road from the cottage between Brogaig and Digg was beautiful and we had it all to ourselves. We also loved Coral Beach (about an hour's drive away).

delightful thematic island croft with extremely friendly and helpful owners.

Tips:

Avoid the Flodigarry Hotel due to deteriorating service and beverages, I have been there several times over the last 14 years.

We had a most pleasant stay at Braeside. It was a very comfortable cottage. Our hosts were welcoming & friendly with lots of local knowledge.

Tips:

All restaurants which we ate at were good but we can heartily recommend Skye Pies near Staffin. Colombia 1400 was also good. Many wonderful walks in this area.

5th June 2016:

The only thing we missed was a cafetiere! We would have bought one but we couldn't find one. Everything was lovely.

Tips:

The book on walks in Skye which we found in the house was really useful and we did lots of them. The one to the very tip of the northern point of Skye was superb, and also one just south of Portree. We had a great time and were very fortunate with the weather. We had fantastic views and peaceful times. We saw wild flowers in abundance, seals in the sea and lots of different birds. We loved our stay at Braeside cottage thank you.

Owner friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable, towels and sheets good quaility. cottage and general contents of a reasonable standard and similar to many other holiday accomodation on Skye. the description on the web was accurate.

Tips:

plenty of fish to be caught locally. if that fails the take away curry from the shop down the hill is nice. Some fossil exposures south of the Kilt rock waterfall worth a look, but difficult to reach without a kayak.

Tips:

Plenty to see and do locally.Staffin Museum, Staffin beach, the Quirang, Old Man of Storr, Lealt Fallt. Try to get to Loch Cuithir, it's well worth the effort. Sample the food at the van at Kilt Rock, it was absolutley stunning.
