Lovely camping pods, very comfortable and well appointed, bathroom was surprisingly roomy and the location was awesome. John and Philippa were terrific hosts. Would definitely stay here again, wish I would have booked for longer I absolutely loved it.

Tips:

So much to see and do on Skye there's too much to list and this location is excellent !! The Old School restaurant across the street has excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere.

25th October 2018:

A very cosy campling pod with very helpful owners who happily provided us with extra towels when needed and even offered wetsuits for swimming in the loch!

Tips:

The coral beaches, just up the road from Dunvegan Castle, are well worth seeing. Look out for the swans on the loch on the way. We loved the fruit and vegetable shop - so many interesting food and magazines for vegans/vegetarians as well as fruit and veg.

Loved our stay, even though it was nice have not much signal etc maybe the pods could do with little TVs but not essential defo recommend to friends

Tips:

Suppose it depends what you like doing, we managed to fit a lot in, recommend the old school restaurant in Dunvegan 2 minutes from the pod and great food! Also went to a cafe in Portree the Caledonia I think, couldn’t fault it

Clean and cozy "cabin". Good amenities for a small space. Only shortcoming was the bed which was had a vinyl coated crinkly mattress cover with poking springs; not very comfortable. Everything else was great.

Tips:

The School House Restaurant was recommended to us. Close walking distance from the Camping Pods, excellent food and service. Great way to end our evening. Try the mussels appetizer, GREAT~11

Ideal for an overnight stay on Skye. Comfy, cosy and warm. The free WiFi wasn’t greatest but there’s nothing wrong with unplugging for 1 night. Only issue we had was feather pillows an duvet which my asthmatic partner was allergic to, he used the throw overs and cushions. When we reported it in the morning the owner assured us that if had asked we could of got replacements so it was all good. The location of the pod next to a wee burn was great...so relaxing.

the location and facilities in the pod were excellent! Very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that I would recommend for the pod would be some jacket hooks and/or sort of clothes line (maybe one that you could pull across like the clotheslines in some hotel bathrooms) as towels in the bathroom do not dry as it is not heated and the towels do not have a place to lay out and there is no place to hang wet jackets or clothes.

Tips:

the walking guide that was provided was really great and very helpful for finding appropriate walks and activities.

We came on at KOL and picked up a good shop at the coop there. The drive to Dunvegan gives the opportunity to take in the scenery. The Dunvegan Castle is definitely worth a look.

Lovely little place to stay. Everything we needed in a little pod and very clean. The shower was always hot and good power. The kitchen wear that was left was plenty. The only problem we found was the mattress, as it was plastic coated it slipped a lot on the sheet so was quite uncomfortable. A fabric mattress topper would fix this problem though.

Tips:

Red roof restaurant is a lovely little place. Only opens a couple of times a week and offers set menu for £35 each. Well worth the money and the food was locally sourced and scrummy!

Warm welcome to well-designed facilities. Everything worked well once we had mastered the idiosyncrasies of the hot plate. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Tips:

We ate locally at the Old School restaurant and at the Waterside Bistro, both recommended. If you are in Portree on a Tuesday, the local pipe band play in the square at 7.30 and are excellent. We ate at Sea Breezes in Portree and that is also highly recommended. The Talisker distillery is worth a visit, as are the Fairy Pools.

A warm and friendly welcome was perfect after a long day's travelling. We had an issue with some of the equipment in one of the rooms not working properly. This was dealt with quickly and satisfactorily and I understood that things happen, I was able to work around it, and I'm certain it would have been sorted before we left had we been staying longer (which I hope to do in the future)

Tips:

There's a choice of good restaurants in the village - which is fantastic for such a quiet wee place. Walk around and experience the tranquillity before you return to your pod, which comes with a gurgling stream right outside for built-in relaxation sounds!

We loved the pods and the drive to Neist which is very close by. The pods were clean and cozy, hot water, heat, and all the amenities you need.

Tips:

Definitely eat across the street at the Old School Restaurant, it was our best meal on our trip! Be aware that the pods are just behind the post office on the main road. It was a bit tricky for us to find. When you arrive there is a phone number of the owners on the sign. They live across the street from the post office, next to the old school restaurant. It took us a bit to check in because we didn't know these instructions :) Super nice owners Do not miss Neist, it was our fav part of Skye!

John couldn’t have been more helpful! On hand when we checked in to show us around and offered to give us a lift to the Edinbane Inn despite it being on his Sunday afternoon. The Camping Pods were so well kitted our. It really is like having a full kitchen and the setting is amazing - the sound of the stream is extremely relaxing!

Tips:

The Edinbane Inn has a great Sunday afternoon lie music session and the food was delicious too! We were there in March so a lot of the smaller local attractions were understandably closed for the off season. We drove up to Coral Beach and it was definitely worth it! I have always wanted to stay in a pod and it didin’t disappoint! Cosy and warm, it was very well equipped and had everything you could think of for a night’s stay. Two points though - I couldn’t get any hot water from the shower, however long I ran it, or from the kitchen tap. We are used to camping, but thought we had upgraded ourselves ... Also, free WIFI was advertised but the signal was dreadful, which made it very frustrating!

We stayed here whilst we went to dinner at the Three Chimneys, a Christmas present from our daughter! It is s only five miles away.

21st September 2017:

Perfect location. Pods are small (we were 3 people), but so cozy, clean and well furnished. Outside, the view on a small stream is so peaceful. Nice walk to do from there. Charming owners. Had a great time !

Tips:

Walk to the oldest bakery of Skye (less than 1 min) : perfect for breakfast ! Drive to Coral Beach (5 miles away), after your visit of Dunvegan Castle : beautiful !

17th September 2017:

We had a fabulous stay at Dunvegan camping pods. The pod was very clean, cosy and we especially liked the heater to keep us warm! We had a very warm welcome - the owners were friendly and advised us on the local area, such as shops, where there was to eat, etc. The shower was surprisingly powerful for a camping pod too. The only thing we could say could be better was the wifi which was quite weak, however, this was expected on the Isle of Skye. It was nice to switch off for a couple of days, the island is too beautiful to be wasting time on our phones! We would without a doubt stay here again.

Tips:

The location was convenient for exploring the north coast of the island, such as The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Mealtt Falls, Quairing and Fairy Glen.

16th September 2017:

Very friendly and helpful owner. I could see that extra care and thought were taken to make the pods perfect to cater for anybody's needs. The owner lives nearby and will help out with any questions or problems you might have. Wifi signal could be stronger - barely works inside the pod but was fine outside the pod. Was hoping that the pods were located in a forest or just outside the city but was behind the post office - but you do get a very nice view from the pod itself!

Tips:

Local restaurant is quite expensive! I suggest buying food from a supermarket if you're on a budget on Portree or any other city you pass through on your way to Dunvegan as it's a very small town. The castle nearby doesn't open very early (was closed at 9AM), so make sure that you sleep quite late before you go have a look!

Great little pod, with everything we needed for our nights stay. Instructions were clear for arrival, the pod was accurately described and location was great being the middle of dunvegan. Lovely sound of the stream running past the front door. We have staying in camping pods before at other locations, but the ensuite and kitchen facilities really make this the 5* star version.

Tips:

The old schoolhouse opposite was very good for food!

23rd August 2017:

Absolutely perfect location, quiet but close to local attractions, very close to a bakery and a grocery shop. It was absolutely wonderful to wake up to the sound of a small river. Great for hikers, walkers and anyone who needs peace and quiet. The owners are very thoughtful and welcoming. The pod contains absolutely everything you may need when glamping including wine glasses :-) A small fridge is great and a tub with butter, milk and some wine provided by the owners are a very nice touch! will definitely be back next year! Thank you for your great hospitality!

Tips:

Great bakery and a restaurant nearby. I still smell freshly baked bread rolls which I had every day for breakfast :-)

22nd August 2017:

Exceptional all round. Great accommodations, no problem for family of four with young kids. John and Philippa made the trip the best it could possibly be! Hugely friendly and welcoming, and going above and beyond to make everything perfect! A real high point! HIGHLY recommended!

Tips:

The Old School House was a very nice restaurant - lovely dining room and excellent food. The staff weren't the friendliest. Dunvegan Castle was excellent, with beautiful gardens. Coral Beach was a great walk, though parking is limited so best to go early, or on bad weather days when no-one else goes (we had the place to ourselves). The Cullins are a must for a walk. Talisker great, and the Coffee shop there is superb (Black Sheep). The walk to the actual village of Talker was a real highlight - out to a cobble beach and cliff-top waterfall (one of the best walks we did). Only other advise is to stay on the island at least a week! We crammed a lot into 3 days, but didn't have enough time to visit all that we wanted to see. We will return!

Super fun for the kids. Gave us all the facilities we could have needed and fab extras. We would definitely stay again when returning to skye.

Tips:

Burger van in local car park was really handy as we arrived after 7pm and kids didn't want to go to a restaurant.

Lovely pods to relax in after travelling for a full day. Great food around and it was an easy check in check out process.

Tips:

We ate at the old school restaurant which was brilliant. Prepare with some bug repellent because it is by the water and those little bug bites are never fun. Overall really clean and nice place to relax and to keep exploring Skye!! Thanks for the stay!
